I tried to watch Magic Mike last Saturday but couldn't make it through the first stripper number. I read Channing's VF interview yesterday and he seems very likable. I guess it was a Channing Tatum weekend for me and I'm not even a fan.
califblondy - I watched Magic Mike a couple weeks ago when my husband was away for work and it was seriously the worst movie I've ever sat through. I actually checked my Facebook and ironed shirts (a dreadful, dreadful task even while drinking a bottle of wine in peaceful solitude) while watching it. THAT's how awful it was. The girl who played the romantic interest was like a wooden doll.
That said, his daughter is gorgeous and love the name. And he is hot. So is the wifey.

I wanted to like Magic Mike soooo bad. Within 35 mins and Channing's second stripper routine I was done! I love him. Think the man has moves, but the movie stunk and yes the love interest made Kstew look compassionate in comparison!

I also thought Magic Mike wasn't all that and a bag of chips. And there was a love interest? My gawd she was so bad I don't even remember her. But no, not good. Joe ManJello's character was just creepy as was Matthew. Yes, nice body but a little long in the tooth as they say.

Alex Pettyfer was super annoying in Magic Mike. I'm glad they're doing a prequel next so he won't be in it. Cody Horn played the love interest, and she got the part because her dad is a huge Hollywood bigwig. She's an awful actress.

My friends and I watch magic mike when we get together, but we fast forward through it and make up dialogue until we get to the stripping parts. Alright, alright is our new saying to each other. We are almost 40 and have bben friends since Jr. High, so it is possible that we have just never matured past 13 :)
I'm kinda pissed Miss Mandy was in AC and she didn't get in touch. AC is only about 40 minutes through the Pines for me. I've made that drive drunk and high with no problems. I got all fucked up driving home trippin on shrooms once though. Missed the first 2 exits I coulda taken and I wound up taking the turnpike before I hit Philly. Over an hour out of the way. Just as well though, that meant less time fetal in bed wishing for the trip to end.
Next time you go to AC Mandy, let me know. I'll take you to a swing club to get yer vagina murdered, or bring you to a good strip club.

I hate Borgatta. Bunch of douches packed into the lounge, and next to no one gambling the couple times I was there. I'd rather be in the Boardwalk casinos, knee deep in degenerate gamblers, taking a break from time to time to sit in the lounge and watch the hookers try and work on rubes.
Have you been to Parx in NE Philly? I had a couple fun times there, but there is nothing to do at 3AM if you are bored w/ gambling.

Agreed that the movie blew chunks. I do admire Channing's dance moves though. He was funny in 21 Jump Street and he was actually decent in The Eagle, which is a Roman action drama. I am not a rabid fan, but he does have some talent even though his neck is bigger than his head.

OMG. You guys with the bad movie recs. You're wasting that on me. Seriously. I NEVER watch movies. I finally watched Bridesmaids like a day or so before I watched Magic Mike, and I also thought that it sucked. I think I'm wired wrong because I always think the movies that the masses love, blow. My husband and I watched Silver Linings Playbook last month. We thought it was cute, but did not get the hype at all. I did dig how they depicted Philly. I do want to see Great Gatsby and The Bling Ring because I am an F. Scott Fitgerald whore and the whole bling ring story is fascinating.
I fast forwarded Magic Mike through all the 'story' BS and just watched the nekkidy parts. And..It felt GOOD! because that movie sucked harder than a brand new Electrolux.
Oh,speaking of movie rec's , I'm a new fan of Mads Mickelson, because of Hannibal, so I watched Valhalla Rising on Netflix. Do not make my mistake. Ugh. Like fat free cheese. So damn wrong.
