New Meaning To Foot Long In One Subway Store

A man has been photographed in Ohio placing his peen on top of sandwich bread in a Columbus Subway. Yes, so if you have eaten in a Subway in Columbus you might want to check your sandwich for any odd hairs that showed up baked into your bread. The workers then decided to post the photos to Instagram, to make the world aware of what happens when they are not making your sandwiches.

I'm not sure why anyone is shocked this behavior goes on in stores. The two Subway workers were fired and Subway released a statement saying it is not typical. You know, just like they really thought their sandwiches were a foot long and are shocked they were only 10 or 11. These guys should not have done it, but are you surprised they did? They make minimum wage in a job they probably dislike. They are young and bored and have no loyalty to the company so of course they are going to do ridiculous, stupid stuff to the food there which is scary and makes you want to eat at home with only things that you have actually plucked from the ground yourself because if you did  not pluck it, some guy making 25 cents a bushel to pick your fruit might have got ticked off that he did not get an umbrella for the heat and peed over the strawberries. Like you don't think that has ever happened in the history of fruit picking? I consider it a success to go out to eat and not get food poisoning. Anything other than that is a win.

Rude, but I don't doubt for a second we have all eaten much worse.

Why don't these companies sue these employees or have them thrown in jail? Firing them seems too nice. They are damaging the reputation of the company and causing them to lose business when they post pictures like that.

Is Ent Lawyer making excuses for this behavior??? Ick!

Ewww! At least with peen it's something a lot of people have had in their mouths at some point as opposed to pee or something.

Or fellated much worse.

@FlirtyChick, I'm betting that they'd lose a lot of money by suing the employees. If they're working at Subway, chances are they have no money to go after so the company would be throwing away money on top of the money they might lose from customers going elsewhere.

I'm grossed out and I worked in a restaurant once and I KNOW the gross things that people do to food. It really hasn't stopped me from eating out. I doubt that many people will stop going to Subway over this.

I used to work @ a pizza shop yrs ago
& a woman ordered a bunch of sheet pizzas for some kid party & the dude making the pizza made the sausage look like dicks on the pizza.

No one called to complain, so i guess the kids liked it.

I'm just disappointed in the poor quality of this peen photo. I mean, if we're gonna see it let's see it!

I've never worked food service, but I totally believe all the gross-out stories. I just eat at home as much as possible and have faith in the power of my immune system.

Every 2-3 years I would be forced to stop at a Subway to be reminded of how shitty their cold cuts are. Crap tasted like it was 40% plastic.

It shows how the economy goes. Lil deli I used to go to in Brooklyn charged $9 for one of the variety of Italian subs the made. All top shelf cold cuts, 2 people could have a meal with one of their subs. I would eat half for lunch then 1/2 for dinner. They have been closed for 2 years.

Shitty Subway Play-Doh cold cuts and $3-4 sandwiches and the joints spread like cancer through out the land.

Oh yes, the things that go on in food service are hilarious and really disgusting. I personally rarely did anything to anyone's food, but when I did it was WAY worse than the amateur stuff these fools do. First rule of eating out, DO NOT piss off the people handling your food!

I'm not surprised generally, but there's a part of me that always will be a little. I worked in fast-food for 2 years as a teen and while we were all constantly drinking beer throughout the night(provided by the boss no less) I never saw anything gross happen to the food we served. Ever. If someone even touched something without gloves it got tossed immediately.

But you hear the stories enough that it's not really a shock anymore.

Not to mention they probably cause cancer, so they are, in fact, spreading cancer across the land.

I just had Subway for the first time ever a few weeks ago, and only because I was intoxicated and nothing else was open.

Was it a salami sandwich?

I get violently sick every time I eat at Subway. Not sure what it is in their food--I have a lot of food allergies but this opens up a whole new line of investigation.

Who knew how many incredibly weird people there are before the age of taking selfies arrived. Glad I stick to Quiznos - much better anyways.

I never messed with any of the food I prepared in all the years I worked in food service.

These people are just gross.

Libby, Where are you? I know you didn't comment on this post so you probably won't get this Q, but if by some lucky chance you read this, any advice re where to eat and how to choose safe places/venues?

Also, OT, but I'm going to repeat an earlier comment/request on another post -- I come here solely for the comments because the site [blogger/writer] has changed. If you find another 'simpatico' site, please let us know.
