Today's Blind Items - A TV Show

Over the past month or so, I have managed to gather a few tidbits about a show that is no longer on the air, but which all of you have seen. All of you. You might have only seen one episode or tell your buddies you have never seen it, but you have seen it.

One of the actors on the show had sex with over twenty extras and assistants over the course of the show.

One of the actors did heroin and coke and just about every other drug you could name in his trailer at one point or the other during the series.

That same actor was joined by the significant other of an actress on the show as they did lines of coke off the floor of the trailer. The actress pretended to be horrified by this, but once did lines of coke off an actor boyfriend's chest.

Another actress on the show went an entire season not talking to anyone other than her significant other because he is an extremely jealous kind of guy. She went from happy go lucky to a miserable introverted person over the course of a summer.

That 70's show. Ashton is the man hoe?

Can't be Glee, that 70's show or the Hills, 'cause I've never watched any of them and according to Enty, I've seen the show. Cheer's, Friends and Mash seem to be popular with all ages.

This is all from new 90210. And that's not even the juicy stuff!

Friends. Courteney/David Arquette and Matthew Perry for the coke people.

Matt LeBlanc for the guy with the extras.

Anniston for the snob.

MontanaMarriott said...

"or tell your buddies you have never seen it." leads me to believe it is a chick show a guy would be embarrassed to admit seeing so SATC

Smith or Chris Noth-Actor who had sex with over twenty extras

Guy who was married to Miranda-Heroin guy

-Kristen Davis boyfriend as the other drug addict

Actress not talking-Kim Cattrall

That 70s Show!

Actor 1: Ashton Kutcher
Actor 2: Wilmer Valderamma
Actress: Mila Kunis
Actress's S/O: Macauley Culkin
Actress who avoided everyone: Laura Prepon
Actress' S/O: Danny Masterson

Not enough info, but I'll guess Gossip Girl...even though I don't believe almost any of this. It's a show that guys would tell their buddies that they haven't seen.

Ed Westwick for all the sex (doesn't say whether they were guys or girls).

Chace Crawford for the druggie

Leighton Meester for the horrified girlfriend/Sebastian Stan for the boyfriend

Blake Lively for the jealous SO.

Silly Girl said...

I've never seen SATC, or Hills, but I did watch Friends and 90210 (the original). With the wording of this, I'm leaning toward 90210. I'll be young people haven't seen MASH, and the new 90210 would probably be too 'out there' for us over 40 crowd, but I did watch an episode of it! Did anyone see the 'no body puts Baby in a corner!' episode!? Funny, but I quickly realized I was too old for that show!

Unknown said...

Lost

Unknown said...

I'm with FRIENDS

manwhore: Leblanc

coke: Perry and David Arquette

introvert: Kudrow

That's a really vague blind for a TV show. It really could be any of them.

Just Another HR Lady said...

Dawson's Creek or Melrose Place? I think it's a "chick show" since it mentions that you may have told your buddies you've never seen it.

Audrey said...

The Brady Bunch. ;) But think about it, that's the only show I can think of that all age groups have definitely seen!

heatherhug said...

Saved by the Bell

Super F*cking Awesome Katelyn said...

Why would you be embarrassed to admit you've seen MASH? That show is a classic!!

I'll go with Gossip Girl

Gayeld said...

Damn it, Amber! That was supposed to stay between Alan Alda and I.

Just Another HR Lady said...

Maybe because I'm over 40, but I've never watched or had any interest in watching the "new" 90210, Gossip Girls, or the Hills. lol I also think this alludes to an older show.

I was thinking LOST the entire time I read this.

Audrey said...

Although I think the Brady Bunch is more fun, I'll go with Friends. The significant other of the actress could be Brad Pitt.

Gayeld said...

So...

1. Mrs. Brady

2. Greg

3. Sam the Butcher

4. Alice

5. Jan

I remember during the first season or so of Friends when Courtney was dating Michael Keaton. People said she was very unfriendly and stuck to herself while with Keaton; and it almost sounded like he wanted her to stay closed off to everybody. Also rumors that she appeared really snobby and standoffish because she supposedly thought she was a big movie star while the others didn't have movie credits, plus she was dating a movie star. Would fit.

parissucksliterally said...

Who watched Gossip Girl? No one that I know.

ethorne said...

A guy just lost Who Wants to Be a Millionaire today because he thought Michelle Williams was Gossip Girl.

Gayeld said...

@Audrey. It explains so much.

Saved by the Bell

Tried to make Seinfeld work because of that Friends episode but feels wrong so, sorry to disagree Enty, never watched a full episode of my guess: Friends

girl77007 said...

I'd be horrified at doing lines of coke off the floor too -- wasn't a table or CD cover or anything else available?

That said, I totally back Gayeld's Brady Bunch theory!

msgirl said...

I'm the perfect candidate for this since I hardly watch TV. Most of the shows listed I've never seen. Even Friends I've seen about 5 minutes and wasn't interested. But there's that 5 minted so I was curious enough so that show is contender. I did watch Lost and everyone I know have watched, even if it was 5 minutes . So that's a contender.

I read that Courtney was very gracious and was responsible for forming an ensemble.

Silly Girl said...

I DO remember hearing that Courtney was standoff-ish when first on the show. Wasn't she the one who auditioned for Rachel Greene's role and they wrote Monica just for her? She thought she was the big star and Rachel should go to her, but she agreed to do the show as Monica as they auditioned others and brought them in. Wow, that's a 15 year old memory coming out! No idea if it's accurate or not.

I Love Lucy.

Melrose Place - there was a whole Seinfeld episode about the fact that everyone has seen it but no one admits watching it. Jerry had to take a lie detector test from the female cop he liked, because he said he didn't watch it and she didn't believe him. He failed of course.

OtherBeth said...

Wouldn't the show that everyone has seen, even if they did't admit it be Hee Haw?

detown359 said...

I thought the same thing but thought Kudrow for the introvert with the jealous French husband.

girl77007 said...

@OtherBeth -- I'm dying laughing here. That show (along with Love Boat and Fantasy Island) is so my childhood. Fabulous call, just fabulous.

Lisa said...

I have never seen Lost and to this day have no desire to lol. Being over 40 I didn't watch a bunch of the other shows also listed.

I am thinking the The 70's Show works really well though.

High Heels said...

Friends is the only show that I can think of that everyone at least in my generation (90's teens)have seen.

sandybrook said...

Its either Seinfeld or Friends. Nothing that started after 2000 would qualify because in this cable universe "everybody" doesnt watch.

Marieeee said...

Baywatch.

Not M*A*S*H as Loretta Swit was the only regularly credited actress in the show and I don't think she had a significant other until the show ended.

MadamChef said...

I think it's Friends. I remember back when it was hugely popular, people at work would talk about it the next day. Fridays were Friends and ER chatter around the water cooler day.

But just to throw it out there - Ally McBeal? Remember the dancing baby?

Alice Tate said...

I was thinking Law and Order. It was on forever and is always on somewhere.

Unknown said...

The key to the blind is the fact that you would tell people you have never seen it. No one would be embarrassed they watched Friends or Seinfeld...

Has to be either Melrose Place or Baywatch. Melrose Place because of the Seinfeld episode or Baywatch because it mentions it is filmed in the summer...

8====D KermitGossnellKnobjob said...

"all of you have seen. All of you. You might have only seen one episode". I don't know in the USA, but here there are only two shows that fit, friends and The Simpsons, so the fucker is Moe, the druggies are Bart and the neighbour chick he once dated and the introverted lady is Smithers with Mr. Burns.

DontRainOnMyPrada said...

I've never seen law & order, lost, SATC, ally mcbeal, baywatch, that 70s show, saved by the bell, gossip girl, or Dawson's Creek, so you can eliminate all of those. You're welcome. ;)

Star said...

I'm thinking 90210 or Saved by the bell

DontRainOnMyPrada said...

How about Dallas? Well that's probably too old....but I'm pretty sure a helluva lot of people watched the "Who shot JR" episode.

msgirl said...

Dallas a a perfect show for this description but only if this blind was asked 20 years ago.

Unknown said...

Strangely, I was thinking Nip/Tuck...it was one of those shows that was a guilty pleasure, and you never admitted to watching it.

Doing lines of coke of the floor IS horrifying and disgusting...however, doing lines of coke of off some hot guys chest is HOT!

I never get these, but I go with Friends!

Heroin and Coke - Matthew Perry
S/O of the actress - D Arquette
Actress not talking to anyone - J Aniston when with Tate Donovan.

Seriously???? Is anyone reading the BV? It's basically a show that no one wants to admit that they watched. Who would be embarassed to admit they watched Friends, Seinfeld or Cheers???? Those shows were HUGE hits. Just about everyone watched them. This is the clue. A show no one wants to admit they liked.

It's a show that no one wants to admit they watched, like Saved By the Bell or The Power Rangers...or the Jersey Shore.

George Glass said...

You watch Melrose Place? You mean all this time we could have been talking about Kimberly and Michael and?

90210 or Baywatch. Both are great guesses. I'm actually leaning toward Baywatch now.

trainrides said...

@Montana SATC is a good guess because of the part which says you might deny having seen it, but I think practically everyone has seen it at the time it was being shown.

Samantha M. said...

Someone up there mentioned I Love Lucy. I don't think it's that show, but I do think it's a much older show than people here are guessing. Even I Love Lucy doesn't seem that strange a guess. Desi was well-known for his affairs, Lucy supposedly turned tricks in her early days, and I thought I remembered reading about Vivian Vance being miserable on the show (though I think it was because she was made to be dowdy and she wasn't in real life, something like that). Not like coke and heroin and sex and lies weren't around in the early days of TV.

hothotheat said...

I was thinking lost the whole time too. Lots of cast members had drugs/alcohol problems.

I've never seen an episode though. Friends and Seinfeld are really the only shows listed so far that I've seen.

Trébuchet said...

Guys bragged about Baywatch IIRC (I was a kid); I think it's got to be something that brings GREAT SHAME to the viewer. (Though "all of you" could be gossip readers lol). I thought "Lost" because of the "all of you HAVE SEEN" (opposite of Lost).

1. horny male actor
2. cokehead actor
3. a prudish actress whose SO did drugs with #2
4. actress DATING SOMEONE ON THE SHOW FOR A SEASON because she didn't talk to anyone on the set but him.

I think if it were Lost, "head bashing" Jack would be in there, though #4, Kate dated Charlie (don't know real life names) on-and-off. I don't think it's Lost. (Plus, too many proud Lost fans.)

Gossip Girl kept getting renewed with shit ratings because everyone watched online; something about the denial aspect in the opening of the blind fits with "you know you love me"; "XOXO" is in the culture.

BTVS could also work (another cult show): Alyson Hannigan said SMG got bitchy in S3 because Freddie Prinze Jr. Maybe Freddie hit some drugs with #2 (drug guy... Xander LOL). Because Alyson's married to the guy who played Wesley on that show, so he could be the jealous one that shut Alyson up. (Just guessing.) David B could have been the manwhore (#1). But I wasn't ashamed to watch that show. My now-husband was, though LOL.

The Hills is a good one, too, since it was scripted, but srsly didn't watch enough to pin people with the clues. (LC as the prissy #3, and obviously Heidi/Spencer as #4)

chopchop said...

I've never seen even one episode of Baywatch, That 70s Show, Two & 1/2 Men, Gossip Girl, new 90210

chopchop said...

My phone cut me off: Gilmore Girls, Buffy, The Hills. My guess is Friends. I never thought that show was very good but I have seen a couple of episodes. I think if you asked college-age or young professional men at the time, they would hesitate to admit they watched it.

short le chic said...

I also though 90210. Dare y to spill!!

NaughtyNurse said...

While I think this blind could easily fit the Friends cast, I think it is about the original 90210. Ian Ziering, Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth are in the photos today, and everybody has seen it...except for the really young readers out there. It was a guilty pleasure of many of us...myself included.

librariantobe said...

Saved By the Bell:

1. Mario Ho-pez
2. Mark Paul Gosselar?
3. Lark Voorhies (Lisa?) for the actress
4. Um, either Tiffany Thiessen or Elizabeth Berkley?

I think the show is 90210, Melrose or Baywatch.
