Blind Item #7 - Kindness

This guy is an actor. He is also a former A+ list celebrity/singer who is now a B- list mostly television actor who moonlights as an A- list singer/celebrity. Not alone though. Anyway he is really careful about making sure that everyone he meets and greets with has the best time of their life. On a recent cruise our celebrity/actor saw a group of women who were off to the side and didn't seem to be enjoying themselves. He went and got them and then introduced them to his other celebrity friends who treated the women to the night of their lives. Booze and partying and lots of photos. It turns out the women had saved years to come on the trip and they wouldn't stop crying the next day talking about how nice our celebrity and his friends were to them.

  5. I actually have tears in my eyes. That is just so kind. Now I'm going to go find someone to be kind to, that's how much that sweet story motivated me.

  7. At first I thought LL Cool J but he's not part of a group...

Then I thought "Jonas brother" but did anyone outside of tweens every consider them to be A-list?

  11. Sorry but grown women saving for years for a NKOTB cruise sounds tragically sad. I know I'm gonna get blasted but at some point even I realized Donnie Osmond wasn't singing "Go Away Little Girl " to me.

  14. A Facebook friend of mine from HS goes every year on the NKOTB cruise. I think there's a big market for these celebrity/band cruises. What, you wouldn't want to be trapped on a boat in the Caribbean with your favorite has-been pop star??

  16. The ratings were a perfect match to Donnie Wahlberg so I guessed him right away. That so rarely happens to me! I loved the NKOTB summer hit, 'Remix', and Blue Bloods is one of my guilty pleasures, so I'm glad to hear to DW is a nice guy.

  17. I can see this being Jon Bon Jovi, but I have to say I think he is still considered A+ no? and I dont' really think he can be considered B actor.

    I like the Donnie guess.

  21. I have no shame in admitting this: I'd go on an NKOTB Cruise in a heartbeat. Being a late 80's/early 90's kid from Boston, NKOTB will always be (as crazy Uncle Joe Biden says) a big fuckin' deal. I went to see them in concert in July and Donnie full-on made out with a chick while singing "Cover Girl". It was faaaaantastic. I love him so much.

  22. When I read this was a cruise my first thought was NKOTB meant No Kids On The Boat. An adult cruise.

    Hope it's Donnie.

  23. I went to see NKOTB in concert this year for a cousin's birthday and I honestly had a blast. They were totally energetic, sang well, did a really good variety of their hits, and even did a nice tribute to those affected by Hurricane Sandy (we were in NJ). They also knew that this was a big night out for a lot of moms and women in their late 20's/30's and really played into that, taking their shirts off and Donnie even kissed a woman in the audience. It really seems like they appreciate, at this age, the people that still support them, and from that I guessed Donnie immediately.

Lazyday: they were my mum's favourite bands, before my time but thanks to mum, I grew up listening to them, and the Runaways, Blondie, B-52's.

  27. This company runs a lot of the music cruises: http://www.sixthman.net/

I have a friend who goes on the Cayamo cruise every year, which features several artists. I think that would be a better time than just one artist or group.

Ex: the 2014 Cayamo cruise features John Prine, Brandi Carlile, Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby, John Hiatt, Buddy Miller, Shawn Mullins, Joshua Radin, The Secret Sisters, lots more.

Scallywag: I don't know any of these. Are the cruises American? I don't think we have anything like that here

  28. I knew they did these themed ones for soap operas but I hadn't heard about the ones for music.
