@Megan, sounds to me like you've been afflicted with some type of adware and/or spamware. Try downloading AdAware on your computer. I'd also recommend MalwareBytes (both are free).

@iPad users, the site uses a couple of ad servers that have been known to redirect to porn sites. It's not your iPad. There's an app called K9 that works as a blocker if you're concerned about kids seeing those ads. (I've never had it happen on Chrome for the iPad. Safari is like driving grandma's car, random noises (pages) and so slow.)
