Love her character on The Middle, and I think that word "middling" was a big clue. But not a fan of what I've heard about her behavior.
He uses "middling" a lot.
wouldn't she have said I'm leaving and then walk out, not much of an impact if you walk out and then say I'm leaving.

I know that Patricia Heaton isn't well-liked, but I'd think that someone who chose to have four kids wouldn't react that way about being around sick kids.
I can imagine a lot of people saying this sarcastically. I think alot of celebs and politicians hate the touching/germy part of their job.

This sounds like such bull-shit. Is Enty a failed writer or something? The dialogue she/he has these people coming out with is so unrealistic.

Holy crap, what if it's Mindy Kaling? Her show is middling but she's on the cover of Parade this week and she is a very popular celebrity.
She also has no kids. And seems like the kind of person who says "ew" a lot.
Justin Long sounds like a verifiable guest, but what red carpet was he on recently? Bill Hader is doing ads right now but the rating doesn't fit.

Oh yeah, "The Middle" is definitely a middling hit. (Oy.) It's no runaway success, but its ratings ensure it won't get cancelled in the immediate future.
