#3 - This former B list television actress on a very hit network show with a very catchy name is now a C lister. It is no wonder her career is in the crapper if she treated her co-workers the way she treats her husband. At a party this week, she yelled at him not once, not twice, but at least three times always in front of people. "Idiot," "Can't believe I'm married to you," and "I told you no ice," were just some of the things she made sure everyone heard. Her husband just seemed to put up with it and weakly smiled when people looked his way.

There's no way that Courteney Cox ever went down to C list AND she'd be a former A list TV actress. She's a household name even now, nine years after Friends ended. Which Entern was drunk when they did the rating system for this one?
Friends was so popular even Gunther was A list. (not really but CC was A for sure).
CC is C list in my book.

He probably put up with it because he was stoned out of his mind. I don't know how she put up with him as long as she did. The addiction, the cheating, that would be too much for me.

Sorry, but given that he has been drunk and stone since prepubescence, maybe she was totally fed up and frustrated of having to mother and manage a grown man acting like the eternal frat boy. David Arquette is, indeed, an idiot. Anyone who has heard an slice of his Howard Stern calls should have a modicum of empathy for CC, not that she didn't buy her own bed with that marriage.
I have a friend who's parents are like that. The wife will just lay into her husband publically over anything, the tiniest thing. Always felt so sorry for the guy but he would just shrug his shoulders, say yes dear & that was that.
Well, she could be a miserable person in general. But(!), when you deal with an addict for that long, your resentment is bound to start showing.

@Rosso, we call the poor guy in our family "the doormat". Just stands there while his 300 pound wife puts her hands on her hips and yells his name until he comes running.

After David Arquette gave every bit of his salary from his time in WCW (and as champion, which he didn't want to do based on the titles heritage) to Darren Drosdov and Owen Hart's family after their tragedies (paralysis and death respectively) I will side with him in everything about him.
He was probably getting on her last nerve with his drinking/drug issues. She shouldn't have treated him like that publicly, but dealing with old drunks gets tiring and it is hard not to snap at them.
I forgot to add that there is no way Courtney is not former A list.

I hated "Friends" and how they used always Monica's obvious OCD as a punchline. Fuck that.
Arquette strikes me as a guy who'd put up with a lot. Wonder what finally made him leave.
I remember years ago they did a commercial together, for Coca Cola I think, and she was yelling at him in the commercial! I remember that it made me feel uneasy just watching it and I hoped that they weren't like that in real life but I suspected that they were.

Whatever the guy may be or have done, he shouldn't be humiliated publicly. That's just some bad behavior. If the spouse is giving you problems, then deal with those problems privately or get out.
hmmm...some abuse is easier to spot than others. Sounds like courteney had a bad night. Doesn't make her a villain. Relationships are messy. And seriously, let's be real here. David Arquette is not the poster child for good decision making. Courteney's bad behavior doesn't elevate David to sainthood. When it comes to abusive relationships, it takes two to tango.
