You would be surprised at how few bartenders can make a Sazerac.
I would google this to sound like a knowledgeable bartender but nahhhh. I'm a clever cute one instead!
GESUNDHEIT, lol. Ok I am off to google whatever that is since I have never heard of it.
The Sazerac is a local New Orleans variation of an old-fashioned cognac or whiskey cocktail, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac that was its original prime ingredient. The drink is some combination of cognac or rye whiskey, absinthe or Herbsaint, and Peychaud's Bitters; it is distinguished by its preparation method. It is sometimes referred to as the oldest known American cocktail, with origins in pre–Civil War New Orleans, though there are much earlier published instances of the word cocktail.
If it has absinthe in it…I'm drinking it! Me and the green fairy go wayyyyy back..LOL
Hell, in my neck of the woods, it's tough finding a bartender who knows to use bitters when making a Manhattan. Some have enough trouble with rum and Coke.
not hard if you're in louisiana.
It is better well known in the South.
I love a Sazerac. Also a Vieux Carre. NOLA has come up with some great drinks.
@oneeye – finding a proper manhattan is better than christmas
The Sazerac is my test drink for bartenders. That and the Old Fashioned.
I can't even pronounce it let alone make one.
I just started watching Orange is the New Black and I'm really enjoying it! I hope it gets better, not worse but I'm in it to win it!!!PS It should be called Khaki is the New Black. . . semantics. . .
My husband and I bought the Absinthe box set and did what it said and it was ROUGH. Any tips?
shit.i think cooking meth wld be easier than properly preparing Absinthe.
i had a bottle of Absinthe w/ Van Gogh on it. i can't even pronounce the name, but it was delish!we just drank it str8 & the house looked like a crime scene by the end of the nite.
death at 2am is what i named the drink i had at the most outrageous party i attended post 1970s. absinthe (home brewed) and champagne. lets just say not everyone remembered the agreements that were made that night but it was a rager… never to be forgotten.
drinking at home sounds appealing in that circumstance. sorry, charlie. sounds boonielicious where you lurk. havent found a decent mojito here in british columbia lower mainland area. good thing i rarely drink…
would pay BIG BUCKS for the video. thx for the laugh…
