Ten Most Fascinating People

I like to remind myself when Barbara Walters introduces her most fascinating people of the year that number one, she has no idea who half of them are. Number two is that they are fascinating. It does not mean we have to like them for them to be included on the list. They are simply the people that Barbara's flunkies and a host of publicists have managed to convince Barbara should be included in her television special in December. Nine of the names have been released and the great news is that Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian are already on the list so they can't win Grand Supreme. Yes, it works the same way as a Toddler And Tiara pageant. You don't want your name called yet.

On the list joining the aforementioned Twerk and Tweek were two Duck Dynasty cast members, Prince George, Robin Roberts, Edward Snowden, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kanye West. So, who is going to be the most fascinating person? Kate Middleton? Lindsay? Oprah?

Edward Snowden is the only person that belongs on that list since he is probably the only one that didn't purchase a spot. Ugh!

please, don't let it be Ted Cruz or John Boehner.

I hope it's Mahlala (which I probably misspelled) or the new Pope.

New Pope!! I love that guy

the new Pope! Yes, Vera...much better choice.

3 reality people made the list. Ugh.

A KKlan'er?! Why?! Why, I ask?

Isn't Baba Wawa the interviewer who asked celebs what kind of tree they would be? Am I recalling this right?

That list sounds redone.

And exactly how is a newborn baby fascinating? Because his parents are royals? He'll either grow up to be someone fascinating or a total mindless bore, but right now he's just another drooling, crying kid. Very fascinating.

I agree Renoblonde----seems so 2 years ago

I can't watch Barbara Walters interview people anymore.

Meanie Rhysie said...

I haven't watch BW in over 30 years. I can't believe this is still a thing with her, it was lame 30 years ago.

aemish said...

lol @rhysie... if that is true that just made my morning

Exactly. A baby isn't fascinating, and why are reality people on there.... Ugh. It's all just h'wood's advertising.

I'm pretty sure she announced that the new Pope would be interviewed.

It is so painful to watch or listen to her. She is so horribly rude, elitist, condescending, and more and more senile with each passing moment. Her retirement can't come fast enough for me.

The best thing about Bawbawa Walters are the bits about her in Kathy Griffin specials. Apparently her lube of choice is Astroglide. Whodathunkit?

I saw a list somewhere yesterday and the Pope's name was on it. Why is Kanye on the list? He and Tweek could have been interviewed together as one person and free up a spot for someone else Babs could fawn over in that rambling Dementia sort of way she has perfected over the last few years.

Kanye? A fucking baby? If I were included in a list like that I would know that my life as a serious famous person is over. I feel bad for Snowden or JenLaw because of that list.(I'm not famous, but this is what I would think).

auntliddy said...

No mesnie, she never did. When interviewing katharine hepburn, hepburn said she thinks of herself as a tree, and babs asked what kind.

MISCH said...

What a joke….
Babs please retire completely.

Meanie Rhysie said...

Ah, thanks, Aunt Licky...I knew it was some silly shit. :)

aemish said...

crap! @auntliddy.. here I was all giddy imagining Barbara pulling Will Ferrell as Harry Carey style interviews.. "Hey! If the moon was made of cheese, would you eat it?"

I wld replace fascinating with made a lot of news. None of those people are "fascinating" except maybe little georgie, who is fascinating like all babies are. :). Is robin roberts the one who had cancer? I wish her well but its not fascinating. Snowden is an idiot; he has to live the rest of his life in russia, a depressing, backward, paranoid state, while most people forget he is even alive. Hey! Perhaps babs is number one!! Lolololol

As soon as I found out how Snowden got passwords from all those agents I nearly fell out of my chair. I love this guy. Free Snowden! :p

She probably wanted Kanye and they wouldn't give him up unless Kim had her own place on the list.

Enty - I would take this entire list as people NOT to write about in order to raise your blog above the others. We can always talk about these people off topic if necessary. To continue posting about these trifling folk is pedestrian at best.

Oh, aemish, I didn't want to know that about Bab's lube!

I have found BW boring for years. Her interviews are boring (especially when she asks a "hard" question and the celeb starts crying - WTH?), she's a snooze on the few times I've seen The View, and I'm falling asleep talking about her...

Duck Dynasty again. I saw a huge DD display at the store the other day with calendars, blankets, cups, lunch boxes. Hope we don't see DD lube soon.

It's times like this I really miss Gilda Radner and Barbara Wawa. She was dead on in her impression and was 30 years ahead of her time, Walters has become Wawa.

This is more like "The Most Nauseating People of 2013".

I hope Barbara asks Kimye why they are without poor Ignorthed so much. And where the diaper bag is when they actually are with her.

fascinating is a strong word..I think the word interesting would have been more applicable. Interesting as in stupefied as to how in the hell you became famous..I can actually agree on 2 of the people on her list . I think Kanye is annoying as f***and I used to think he was very stupid also. but I've seen a couple of interviews that he's done recently that has changed my opinion about him. the guy is actually extremely intelligent but he isnt very versatile at expressing himself. if you throw being a consummate narcissist into the equation, you have a walking disaster on your hands being kanye. iits really sad I don't see the whole thing ending well unlesss he snaps out of it

Miley Cyrus is the other person I think is interesting. I think she maybe underestimated from intelligence perspective but I have no proof the back that up as of yet. she is interesting to me more so I think because she wears her heart on her sleeve.sshe's also very passionate and somewhat real which is t different from a lot of famous people get that popular.

I believe Kimye is being included as Kimye, the Pope was mentioned in another article. I'm not sure if they listed ten or listed nine (different websites have different things) but either the number one is already included and we don't know which number each of these people are, or it's a surprise guest. I think Beyoncé should have been included. She was the most Bing'ed person this year, Superbowl show, documentary, etc.

Watched a great TED talk about how Edward Snowden alerted the world to the American government having in law the right for its agencies to track any non-Americans use of American websites. So all of the purchases I make on Amazon, the fact I am reading this blog, using Google as my search engine etc, even though I am no threat to anybody, the American security agencies can track all that I do. The violation of privacy for the rest of the world was brought into sharp relief. Made me admire Snowden even more. Very scary stuff.

@Seven of Eleven. I saw a huge DD display too. Binoculars, blankets, PJ's,wallets, you name it they had it. The funniest and the lamest was a DD chia head.
Can you say overkill?

I vote for the Pope, and I'm not Catholic.

I completely agree. Snowden gave us the info , it's up to us what we do with it.

I think anyone monitoring my internet usage would be very disappointed to see how much of my kids nap time is spent here.
