Blind Item #3

This A list celebrity/singer asked to be drugged and unconscious for the first few days of withdrawals so she wouldn't have to deal with it all. The facility refused. Coming off the drugs has apparently been really really hard.

I thought she was there for an eating disorder? Who are these aholes talking about their celebrity clients??

Anonymous said...

@TTM - rarely is that that the case - admitting so would tarnish their 'brand'.

Definitely Ke$ha!

TalksTooMuch said...

Well, she's the only celebrity publicly doing the deal right now, maybe it's an Adderall addiction to help her lose weight! Done! Solved!

ps: Stepforded, you seem CRAZY familiar, have you ever posted under another name?

I have to go to the dentist next week and they offer a service called "twilight sedation", which is similar to general anaesthesia but without as many risks.

If some people need sedation just to get some dental work done, imagine how much harder detoxing your entire body from drugs would be. The facility most likely refused because suffering through the pain of detox is sometimes considered a step in rehab (i.e., it sucked so much to come down, you'll never do it again).

I'm not sure I like the new Entybot schedule firing off all these blinds so early in the day and leaving none for later on :(

TalksTooMuch said...

I've heard of twilight sedation, Seven, but I thought it was called "weed"

FSP said...

I see what you did there TTM.

Hanwi said...

Aren't they always going to rehab for "anxiety", "stress", or "taking time to focus on themselves". Everybody knew Kesha was into alcohol and drugs.

Meanie Rhysie said...

LOL TTM! I see what ya did there, too!! :D

You were asked NOT to anymore?? By whom? That's crazy!

Suck it up Buttercup! You play, you pay.

Twilight sedation is my new hobby.

Not sure I buy this. They don't just cut you off with nothing. She's being given something. Sure, it'd be great if you could just sleep through 30 days of rehab, but it's not how it works.

@Sandybrook I actually love the earlier blinds...I'm on CET so Enty starts posting at around 3pm each day. Otherwise the blinds come at a time of day when I'm already under twilight sedation.

@Stepforded, seriously? I would send them proof that my name was "Bite Me".

Yep ... (have deleted my comments to avoid any futher hassle!)

What happened? I missed it.

Katie said...

yeah what happened? type it one more time!

rajahcat said...

well there's a reason why withdrawal is so awful---so you will remember it forever and not be so easily sucked back in to using..........

@Kristin, Stepforded was threatened by someone for using a screen name that was a pun on the name of a popular actress married to someone who once played a tall, green superhero. @Stepforded, sorry you had to deal with that, but I don't think they had a legal leg to stand on. Unless you were trying to deceive people into thinking you actually WERE that former television star with a quickly declining career, it's considered satire and thus protected speech under the First Amendement.

lower_scott_hill said...

how would anyone even know that?

if it is her, she needs to change up the people in her life when she gets out.

one thing from rehab that's always stuck with me is the immense changes you need to make in your life after - if you wanna have a chance to make it.

good luck to this person.

Eros said...

Just to be different I'm going to say Rihanna. Latest pics I saw of her look very sober.

Anonymous said...

First thought is Kesha, but really - is she A list??? I don't think so!

Err said...

Kesha has the number 2 downloaded song ever on iTunes. That makes her A list.

Kristin Wigs said...

@Nutty @Stepforded That's effed up.

TTM how the hell do you recognize someone's writing style? Damn.

Sophie Helene said...

I am not sure about Ke$ha either. What she seems to fear is what I understand would be associated with severe opiate withdrawal.

Possible I guess, just not what I would have imagined, and unfortunately I have no alternative.

I had no idea Ryan Reynolds was that tall. I had to look it up. He comes off as a short guy to me.

Unknown said...

Easily TTM spends her entire day on this site. She doesn't shut up.

TalksTooMuch said...

No, I never do, Wendy. You should probably get comfortable.

Kristin, not always, but sometimes, my drinky Tina!

Meanie Rhysie said...

@Wendy, Hey haggy one!

Kristin Wigs said...

@Wendy you spend an awful lot of time thinking about her. Either ask her to prom or get bent bc no one wants your high school bullshit here.

ethorne said...

@Wendy Davis, shouldn't you be busy teaching your daughters to be feminists?

@err-
No it doesn't. At least it shouldn't!

Wendy, you're a cunt.

Darn school schedule. I miss everything!

i know a true story about jerry lewis doing this. he was admitted to the hospital and was kept under anesthesia with an anesthesiologist in attendance for 2 weeks while he detoxed off all the shit he took---mainly pain pills. it's ridiculous and a stupid way to rehab but his doctor (a HUGE bigwig whose name you would know) went along with it.

"Kesha has the number 2 downloaded song ever on iTunes. That makes her A list."

No. It makes her a one-hit wonder.

Sugar said...

Shazbot! Being on the west coast makes me miss so much fun in the morning!
Whaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Why is Wendy so mean?

TalksTooMuch said...

I don't know why, Sugar. She may be wrestling with some self esteem issues. I wish her well.

Sherry said...

Meanie: They don't ALWAYS give you anything during withdrawal but they do monitor you in case anything happens. And you may be asleep but your body will still go through the shakes and everything. Had a friend who went into a coma and withdrawal subsequently because she couldn't drink.

Yeah I wondered too Sugar.

sandybrook said...

Funny thing is she is only really pissy with TTM for some reason or other. Maybe she crushes on her and got rejected.

TalksTooMuch said...

Psshhh, I've never rejected anyone! It's part of my charm. I changed my profile photo for her for a minute though. That's for you, Wendy

Anonymous said...

@Wendy, how would you know if @TTM spends her entire day on this site... Unless you do, too? Why so annoyed?

Kristin Wigs said...

Preach it @CocoaBeach! There are some folks who do that shit.

Nice rack TTM!

Kimba said...

Yer pretty TTM and nice tata's!

TalksTooMuch said...

Thanks, guys! Cheap too, just grew them

I agree @Sophie Helene, this blind suggests opioid withdrawal.

When we were kids we had a cool young dentist who gave us some kind of gas, if you need a cavity filled, he said pretend you are an astronaut and you are going into space.

And whatever it was, and it did not cost extra, but this was a LONG time ago, it worked, you were like take all my teeth I don't care.

It was real bummer though when got to that age where one was too old for this, but he was a good dentist - he would give you the needle to freeze your mouth so smooth and even a root canal was a breeze. He is retired now.

Harry Knuckles said...

I like this pic better Too but maybe you could shoot it again with a little more cleavage?

TalksTooMuch said...

Sure, Harry, I'll get right on that. Did you not get enough cleavage during Reader Photos? Good god, man, there was a veritable pantheon!

littlejenny said...

is being (or becoming) addicted to adderall or cocaine specifically taken to loose weight considered an eating disorder? because it should be. and that is what I think happened to Kesha. and Lindsay. and Britney. and all the rest of them...

feraltart said...

Stepforded, glad to see you are still here. Would be funny if everyone came up with a variation on that particular theme & told whichever wanker it was to go fuck themselves. TGIF in Australia guys.

Gayeld said...

@Sugar, she's off her meds again.

Jason Blue Eyes said...

@Tina - I think I'd be a little wary of any dentist that was too liberal with administering gas.

Not A Ninny said...

"...it's ridiculous and a stupid way to rehab." Actually, it's a pretty common and medically mainstream way to detox off of opiods. The idea that suffering through withdrawal symptoms will deter relapses has been discredited.

BaronessOrczy said...

"...it's a pretty common and medically mainstream way to detox off of opiods."

Opioid detoxification under anesthesia or heavy sedation is not medically mainstream. It is considered experimental or investigational. More research is needed on efficacy and safety. The only advantage I can see to this procedure is an addict will be more likely to seek treatment because the procedure promises there will be no suffering. The idea of undergoing anesthesia and all the risks that entails (including death) for withdrawal symptoms that are non life threatening, is "ridiculous and stupid." This is a great example of providers making tons of money by praying on the fears of a vulnerable population.

Bitca said...

FWIW....
I don't think Ke$ha is addicted to any form of dope, but standard opioid detox--21-day methadone/buprenorphine treatment tends to involve titrating methadone/bupe downward to 0mg--or for hard-core addicts, reducing meth dose until a patient can transition to suboxone/subutex maintenaince (both are forms of bupe). You don't keep people sleeping thru w/drawal on equally addictive tranquilizers.

Bupe maintenance is a reasonable try if patient will be seriously at-risk afterward. --eg, a performer is exposed to dangerous "gifts" & dealers. Bupe--which is not much of a recreational drug--sturdily blocks effects of other opiates & when mixed w/same may even cause severe w/d symptoms.

Methadone blocks other opiates, but is far more subject to abuse & can be more deadly than heroin if overused or mixed w/substances like benzodiazepines (eg, Johnnny Thunders, or Anna Nicole Smith--see the book Final Exit, in which methadone is listed as one of the only surefire means for terminal patients to off themselves).

Booze & coke actually seem two of the hardest addictions to fight--look at Keith Richards. In the 80s he was such a drunk that a friend of mine saw him on the floor at a recording studio, passed-out cold w/piss-stains on his jeans near a vending machine.

KR didn't stop using coke until he was near or past retirement age, & still seems to be an active alcoholic.

B. Profane, that's what I thought, too, that withdrawal doesn't deter relapse. If anything, it scares people away from quitting. Just the idea of running out of drugs causes people to become desperate when they run out of money, prompting them to sell everything (including themselves) or steal, just to keep w/d away.

Zeeky_Boogy_Doog said...

K. Madelyn - You should read up on loperamide/imodium. A lot of people have found success getting clean by switching from their opiate of choice to loperamide. Its biggest advantage is the body recognizes it as an opiate so the withdrawal doesn't get bad, but it can't cross the blood-brain barrier -- there's no high.

Unfortunately, it's all pretty new. I don't know of any studies and the accounts I've read are anecdotal or testimonial. I wish they would study it, though, if it can help people without trapping them in daily trips to the methadone clinic, it's a great thing!
