A Thelma And Louise Remake Starring Michelle Rodriguez And Cara Delevingne

The studios have wanted to shoot a remake of Thelma And Louise because you know, the first one wasn't good enough or something. Somehow Michelle Rodriguez has been cast in the movie and she is pushing hard for her new girlfriend Cara Delevigne to star alongside her. Yeah, a model with virtually no acting experience at all. Of course Brad Pitt was in the original and had virtually no acting experience at all, but his role and that of them women is completely different. Michelle thinks she has enough power to cast aside the first studio choice of Kristen Stewart but I don't think she does. I don't see how the movie will do well at all and casting Michelle and Cara next to each other is a sure way to make sure the movie bombs. When Michelle finds someone to be with she latches on to them and doesn't let go for a month or two but then tires and wants to move on to the next thing. By the time this movie gets around to shooting the two could hate each other. Movies that star your love interest almost never do well and I don't think this would be an exception.

If this one ends with Rodriguez driving off a cliff, I think we should be supportive.

What????? Petition! Eyebrows and Angry are NOT going to do it justice

You don't need acting experience to have the special something that makes people drawn to you.
I wish her the best with this role!

A remake of Thelma and Louise? Why the F why?!? How about casting Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, while they're at it...

@Kristin - Yes, please!

Lord Disick is totally the Louise to my Thelma!

Oh god help us...alcoholic fighting lesbians...T & L was about friendship they are not lovers...if Michelle, Cara, or KSkank are cast it would bomb & turn into a lesbian alcoholic "luv" story...

"... but his role and that of them women..." WTF kind of sentence is this?

Do we have Hillbilly Enty today??

Susan said...

What. The. Fuck?!?!?

Ugh. I hate Hollywood. Write some new material, bitches!!

Lord Disick said...

Thanks Khloe but I'm not dressing up with Kris' closet again.

I think you're right, Annabelle. This movie would be 2 lesbians on the run from the abusive men who don't share their closetless existence. Helped by the transitioning to femme robber, they go on to cut a swath thru the testosterone towns as they race to live til they die...
If they Sharknado'ed it and changed the title and left the original alone, I'd be all for it...:-P

Rodriguez's substance abuse problems aren't funny, and if she's spending time with a 24/7 drug addict, it's not something I want to laugh about. Ugh on this. Ugh.

Now that is just silly talk!

But Scottina was so cute!

@TTM 'eyebrows and angry'!!! that is the best sentence written today. I can't stop laughing. LOL

YEAH what Susan said. Thousands of scripts, great scripts in H'wd and everything is a bad fucking retread.

You can't surpass the original in this case. It even launched Brad Pitt on the road to super stardom. Flop idea.

ugh no, hollywood, no.

You guys, calm down. No one would even watch this.

Kristin Wigs said...

@Lotta I'd watch it! I'd watch this movie so hard. I was all over Flowers in the Attic and have my tickets ready for the Endless Love remake next week.

I love disastrous remakes.

NomNom83 said...

I *highly* doubt this remake will actually happen, let alone with Rodriguez as a lead. And Delevigne? Please. No studio in their right mind will finance that train wreck. How would you even get it insured?

If this were happening, though? Diane Lane and Amy Adams.

they either rape the corpses of movies already made, or just directly rip off foreign made films/tv shows. (still pissed off about kath and kim, Ab Fab and Rake).

Rodriguz is known to be gruff boozer and fighter. Thelma and louise had a pathos to them, a sadness. Michelle wouldnt be believable in that role. Kstew actually wld be good. And if you're turning it into a movie about lesbians on the run, then its not a remake, its a new movie.

Morning rach, I can understand your pain. They redid Cracker with Eldin from Murphy Brown...
Still, I hope Greg Kinnear can do the premise justice, he deserves a hit.

I thought this headline was an Onion article link. Seriously.

Soooooooo very stupid. I'm sick of all these remakes. They also just did a remake of Endless Love.

To me....this is like doing a remake of Star Wars or Raider of the Lost Ark. Stupid.

Oh god no.............

WHHHHHHHHY!!!!!!!

The age difference also is huge. Susan was maybe 45 in this movie. Geena was 35 or 36. What kind of life experiences would the women have in this version? I guess awful boyfriends? They're trying to young down this movie but why not just create a new story?

clearly4you said...

Stop with the remakes! Hollywood is lazy! Come up with some new material for god's sake...

Mark B said...

@Tara, Rodriguez is in her mid 30s IIRC, so maybe that would work. You have a point about Cara though.

Unknown said...

LOL who would play Brad Pitt?

Krissie said...

Why not? There are so few movies with women in the leads. We need more. Go for it.
