Blind Items Revealed - Kindness

November 11, 2013

Some love for the military today in the blind item. This celebrity is B list. The fact that she has managed to stay B list shows how hard she is willing to work because she has not had monumental success. She started off as a reality star and is now a very solid B list singer with almost A list name recognition. Everywhere you look you are apt to see her as she tries to keep her name and face and other assets on display.

Anyway, our celebrity is someone who is always there for the military. She will show up at welcome home parties and sing. She will show up at a VA hospital unannounced and make sure she sees every patient in the place. If you need someone to perform on a base she will be there. If you need help raising money she will be there. There is one time that a military wife had the chance to see her husband for two days when he had a quick 72 hour pass and was going to be in Germany. The problem is that the couple had three kids and no one to watch them. The people the women would have normally used were also going to Germany to see their husbands. When our celebrity heard about the situation she flew to the base and watched the woman's children plus the children of three other families for the entire three days. Our celebrity dropped everything to help. I think she is pretty amazing for doing what she does and each thing seems kind of small but when you add it all up it is quite an impressive body of work.

Wow that's lovely.

But ... I'm not sure I'd have someone I didn't know watch over my kids ...

Yay! We got this one! Love her.

Impressed that she does this herself, even babysitting a few families children-not just hire or call someone which also would be good.

Makes me think she has military family.

Kellie "What's a ballsy" Pickler... What a lovely thing for her to do for those people but I agree. I'm not sure how I'd feel about a stranger watching my children like that.

In retrospect, "kind of small," might have been a hint.

I doubt she just moved into the house and ordered pizzas. She possibly paid for a hotel in a central location and had folks to help with activities, or set up a mini daycare. If they were near a post, the military has daycare facilities and staff who are paid to help with kids whose parents are deployed. I'm sure the youth staff was involved.

She comes from a rough childhood herself, and she seems to be a good person who tries to do good things with her time and money. I like her a lot.

Wish more stars/singers/celebrities saw this need. It takes very little for anyone to make a difference in the life of a military member. Just a handshake or a few words, an ear to listen, volunteering at an airport USO, these things make a huge difference in the lives of service members and their families. The last 12 years, between two wars and non-stop training has taken a toll on these very self-reliant, sacrificing heroes. They live in nothing but stress, hard work, and they under-estimate their needs on a daily basis. Nothing is better than giving of yourself, and military and families know this all too well. They give every day in ways that are unimaginable.
Great job Kellie Pickler!
