Blind Items Revealed- Kindness

December 31, 2013

This Food Network mainstay who is probably the best part about the network donated and raised almost $1M last year to fund a cooking program in his hometown where underprivileged high school students can take classes after school and get a job if they want it or just give them something to do to stay out of trouble.

I agree with LC. What he's done is great. They have a similar program in St. Paul MN.

Sandybrook, he appears to be some sort of snack scientist?

Alton does the play by play on Iron Chef America and now he has his own show on the Food Network called Cutthroat Kitchen where contestants get money at the start and they can buy advantages or sabotage other players and whoever wins keeps what money they have left. They get $25,000 to start. He is very cool.

Look up Good Eats with Alton Brown, show the science behind cooking/recipes AND funny, or my sense of humor is far too simple, you decide

Good Eats is the only show worth watching on Food Network. Everything else sux.

Good Eats is Good TV. I wish high school chemistry would have been that fun.

Yay Alton, that's awesome. The Food Network sure has gone downhill. I used to watch for hours and I'm no cook. I never watch now.

Emeril Lagasse has a school in NOLA that does this too. It's always a great thing when any big name gives back to their community. (Or anybody for that matter).

Thanks, Kameon! I love Alton Brown! He's the reason I eat shrimp. Long story. But woo hoo! That thread made me miss our Rowdy, where did he go? ?
