Judge Joe Brown Arrested

Yesterday in a Memphis courtroom, former television judge, Joe Brown was arrested for contempt of court and sentenced to five days in jail. Apparently he turned up and said he was representing someone in a child support case. He was informed their was no such case being heard and went off on everyone in the court. After being ordered to remain quiet he went on a rant and was charged with contempt five different times in his brief visit. The former judge is running for District Attorney and I don't think this is going to help him get elected. I'm guessing that after his five days in jail we might see the former judge decide to voluntarily enter rehab or blame it on bad prescription medicine. He needs to come up with something or he has no chance of winning. I know I wouldn't vote for the guy.

Anger issues? I'm stunned.

Rather ironic, isn't it?

Hey it could be the first signs of Dementia, you never know.

Oh dear, the incorrect usage of the word 'their' cannot be forgiven. Such basic primary school education level grammar.

Montana may be right, but ive seen the show in (waiting rooms) and he seemed like a loose canon there as well. Very unjudgelike behavior.

Judge Brown is a douchebag.

Heh, after his YouTube rant while drunk, I wonder how sober he was during this Incident...

Yeah, that sounds off.

Apparently being an elected official is tough, y'all

Henriette said...

Well, he's not all bad. He sent all his mistresses to college and paid their tuition, so he does have his better points.

Violet dear, stop clutching your pearls in distaste. These are not historical documents, but the the ravings and blatherings of a possible lunatic. Breathe deep , unclutch and have a nice cuppa.

Based on JJB's working record for the last 10 years, he might Be out of his mind. I'm thinking more drinking, women, and having his butt kissed on his show is responsible.

Violet - He obviously didn't go to preschool. ;)

I barely comment but really 'he turned up'... How about he showed up or he arrived?

@aunt Liddy I know, I shouldn't get worked up over such a small thing when there are far more important things going on in the world - like still not knowing who coke mom is when I specifically emailed Enty 2 weeks ago with my vote.

I love JJB's voice. He needs to ' rehab ' and reclaim religion ,then take his act on the road.
Televangelism is his ticket back to the big time!

I love love love Judge Joe. He is strict, but forces people to face their responsibilities. My teenage sons wish he was their grandpa. (Grandpas have all passed). He doesn't suffer fools gladly, though. I would like to have heard exactly what was said. I think a judge putting another judge in lockup is petty. They should have just worked it out. Tennessee, huh? Interesting.

I thought it was Sheriff Joe. The letdown was harsh. :/

I've only seen this guy briefly but if he's having anger issues should be be on a bench? Aren't you supposed to be a little neutral to understand both sides? Or am I way off on what that job is supposed to do?

I read a news piece saying that Judge Joe has been released. The woman he was helping had been jerked around by the court so many times that he took a personal interest in the case and was working for free. He found out that the matter had been moved to another date for the fiftieth time and lost it. Anyone who has had anything to do with the court system will know the passive aggressiveness and obtuseness of some court staff and the collective uncaring of the court system. He wasn't angry on his behalf, he was angry on the client's behalf, and I think there's a difference.

@ leek ( morning!) There's a big difference. One makes him insane and lost , the other, righteously indignant.

@Steamy Hi! Exactly.

Enty, your logic is sound if this were anywhere other than Memphis. Memphis politics are simple: Act like an idiot and you get elected. It's tradition.

LOL @fireflies. Sounds like *someone* knows the Ford family! ;-)
