Bryan Singer Accuser Sues Three More People

Michael Egan and his attorney held a press conference yesterday to announce the filing of three additional lawsuits to make good on their promise last week that the suits were coming. Last week Egan sued Bryan Singer and accused him of sexually abusing him when he was a teen. The three men named yesterday are not directors but they are big names in Hollywood. They are Garth Ancier, Gary Goddard and David Neuman.

All three are accused of sexually abusing Egan while he was between 15-17 years old at the home of convicted sex offender Marc Collins Rector.

Ancier was the first head of programming at FOX. Neuman is the former President of Disney. Goddard also worked at Disney before producing Broadway shows. Neuman and Goddard denied the allegations and called them all lies. Ancier could not be reached for comment by any news organization.

Egan's attorney said there will be many more victims like Egan who will be speaking over the next several weeks so this is not going to fade away. It is going to be front and center and the stories will probably become more sensational. Singer's attorney continues to deny the charges alleged against his client. Meanwhile, Singer himself has skipped every event he was scheduled to attend to promote the new X-Men movie.

I'm sad to say that I am skeptical. We'll see.

This is getting pretty big, and Singer's name was taken off all the promos of his movie.

Stay angry guys! The more people who come forward the more ammunition there it. Cash grab = Punitive damages.

i'm with FearN.

Sounds like a witch hunt... where's the evidence aside from this one guy? Other guys say nothing happened to them and they were in the same situations...

"Meanwhile, Singer himself has skipped every event he was scheduled to attend to promote the new X-Men movie."

Actually, Fox pulled him from those appearances. Also, his name was pulled from the trailer for his new TV show.

I don't think they'd be going after all these guys if this hadn't happened. Egan's attorney, Herman, has a solid reputation, and apparently his practice deals solely with sex-abuse claims.

What a mess, he'll either win or be destroyed

Rector is one creepy looking dude!

I think with publicity these lawsuits will go forward. But you know these accused are gonna use all their money and favors to slow up these cases. But if ANY of this is true, get every one of them, and get 'em good.
And as for Eagen being a hustler, a liar, he went willingly-the victim does not have to be likable to be truthful. You may not like or admire his lifestyle-meaning opportunist, not gay-but that not mean he doesnt have legitimate case.

Henriette said...

Actually, there have been TONS of rumors about Singers sex parties with underage boys. Datalounge and the Village Voice were discussing them for years, so I believe Egan.

Yes! I agree..

Every thing you need to know about Marc Collins-Rector, in one handy dandy foul mouthed South Park style video.

FearN said...

True, you have a good point. Playing the gay pedophile card to the media really bothers me in this case.

FearN said...

To explain - gathering sympathy by sensationalizing the 'gay' part of this, appealing to homophobes.

Topper Madison said...

Sadly, once someone is publicly accused of being a pedophile, they are forever condemned as one, whether or not they are truly guilty. This is not going to end well for anyone, so I hope these charges are true, because these four accused men's lives are now ruined. Let's hope they deserved it.

Leekalicious said...

@FearN
I know...That bothers me too. One way to counter that would be for straight abuse victims to come forward en masse. Homophobia is one of the reasons that the victims have been quiet so long, and the secrecy, ironically, protectors the abusers.

agree @topper

This is scary if it's not true. I'm with y'all, hoping lives aren't ruinec unless deservedly so.

Way past time for this to happen! Let's see the female tweeners get in on the action. Go GetMoneyBitch!! All these pervs/pedos care about is money. Please take all of it! If they could do it in Sandusky they can do this in Hollywood!

EvieShackles said...

Agree... this isn't JUST happening to the boys in Hollywood... Girls are often targeted too.

Hollyweird! What a disgusting place.

Sprink said...

Wow that was long, Seven. And I couldn't figure
Out how to pause it!

Leekalicious said...

@__-__=__ You said it! I read a book about the Sandusky case and the utter cluelessness and uncaring of Sandusky regarding his victims was appalling.

Sprink said...

It's very unlikely the female tweeners will get together and complain. Most of them (think that they) have something to lose. This Egan guy? Not so much, not in terms of an acting/music career.

Dexamyl said...

I don't feel like the media has been making any gay = pedophilia association. In this case, it happened to be male pervs and male victims. Of course, there will always be Fred Phelps types, but most folks know they're idiots.

In any case, Collins-Rector is the dregs of humanity. It will be interesting to see how much he figures into all of this.

Seven of Eleven said...

@Sprink, I know! It was old-school flash player.

The part with the coke-snorting horse was just ... bizarre and screamed mimosa time. The video was made in 2006, I think, so it's not like these are new allegations. I'm sad that one of them was the star of Mighty Ducks. :/

Even if this guy isn't telling the whole truth, this is subject matter that needs a light shone on it.

Today the pedo former trainer for the Toronto Maple Leafs pleaded guilty to another 108 charges.

Every time he is in court more victims come forward and they charge him some more.

I think a special pedo camp in the most remote region of Siberia or the Canadian arctic would be a good thing.

Unknown said...

That is the problem once you are branded a pedophile it is hard to shake it off but the same with this kid, whether he is telling the truth or not, whether he can prove it is the truth, whether he wins or loses, he is going to be a target if he isn't already. He is either going to be a liar or a money grabber or both.

I sometimes think that maybe we should not identify anyone just charged of a crime but then justice demands that the rest of the community can see that this person is getting a fair trial etc.

I know our local newspaper stopped naming suspects a few years ago, including those charged with DUI, with a few exceptions like a murder suspect or a drug dealer. It was already well known that citizens with $$$ or in particular huge advertisers of the paper were already able to keep their names out of the paper.

But now the police forces all over Ontario who are not already doing so, want to publish the names of all people charged with DUI to act as a deterrent.

Unknown said...

Okay Dex I see what you are saying, and I have perhaps gone overboard, it all just depends on how legal these boys were at these parties. Age of consent is 18 in California.

I agreed Dexamyl with your post.Rapist come in all sexual orientations.

He was an usher at Maple Leaf Gardens. He had nothing to do with training the Leafs.

No one with any lingering connection to this industry will ever come forward (let's hope some who have left the industry will). That's why the unsolicited comments like "he didn't rape me and he had the chance" that are coming out are laughable, as is all the so-called evidence that would prove Singer wasn't in Hawaii. 100% of that can be fabricated, and people will absolutely lie on the industry's behalf. That's not to say Egan is telling the truth; none of us have any way of knowing that. Both the allegations and the denials/defense are virtually UNPROVABLE. But it is time the problem of sexual abuse and sexual harassment (aka the "casting couch") in Hollywood came to light. This is much, much bigger than the Sandusky case.

Unknown said...

Also, @ TinaM, the complaint doesn't allege statutory rape (which is crime; this is a civil complaint), it alleges sexual assault (rape) and some other related allegations. He alleges that he didn't consent, and that at times he was plied with, and sometimes forced to ingest, drugs and alcohol (which would have negated his ability to consent). Even prostitutes (which some have characterized the alleged victim as) have the right to say NO (and imagine how difficult that would be for a teenager in the circumstances described in the complaint). Again, I don't know if the allegations are true, but it rankles me when every single celebrity accuser is automatically presumed to be in a money/fame grab, even those who don't sue, like Corey Feldman.

I think the issue is power. That these men used their power. Egan isn't gay himself and I don't see him saying all gays are predatory.

Plus his first case against the Rector fella was successful

If children are attending "parties", I have but one question - where are the parents?

I guess I have another question then, who exactly in the family is wanting the fame and fortune? If a parent is sending their sons to parties to be "discovered" I think that is like telling your child to go play on the highway - they are going to get hurt.

BTW, the Wikipedia article on DEN states that Neuman was hired by Marc Collins-Rector.

Another link: an interesting ,2007 article from Radar. It mentions Collins-Rector's friendships with two of the accused--Singer and Ancier.

This is all the tip of the iceberg. In a prior post, Enty mentioned the Amy Berg documentary project in the works - that will be a major quake all through town when finished. There are also journalists at ProPublica working a massive story related to all of this as well. There are armies of private investigators, attorneys, and yes, even Feds/cops...all digging into allegations about abuse in this industry going back decades. Both homosexual and heterosexual. It is not a witch hunt...it is about bringing forth justice far too long denied (no matter how belated). Conspiracy is not a theory...it is a felony.

surfer said...

From your mouth to God's ears. I really hope this happens - let the rumbling begin.

"Conspiracy is not a theory...it is a felony." I like that.

And I'm looking forward to seeing the bad guys finally getting what they deserve. I'm hopeful that they will.

I encourage you all to read Corey Feldman's autobiography, where he details the rampant pedophilia that exists in Hollywood and how those in power use drugs and alcohol to victimize kids.

Unknown said...

What bothers me is that Egan didn't name Bryan Singer or accuse him of anything in 2000 when he was suing two other guys for raping him.

Unknown said...

Egan is going to have a very tough road ahead of him. I'm sure his lawyer has informed him of the odds of success. But perhaps this isn't about the money, even if he loses, which is likely, all that testimony will come out. Names will be spoken, slimy reputations exposed. Perhaps that is Egan's end goal...revenge. I wish him luck. The Hollywood sexual predatory games should end.

ForSure said...

If all of this somehow leads back to the messes at Disney and Nickolodean, I might be impressed enough to go back to church. Oh wait, I was Catholic. Nevermind.

Please, victims of Hollywood, please find the strength to come forward, even if you can't get criminal justice. Good luck to all of them.

Lux said...

Since reading up on this Singer case, I can't help but wonder if there is a similar thing happening amongst the Disney/Nick tweener set. Why are all these girls so damaged? Why has no one caught onto this yet? It's worrying.

+1 on the pedo camp.

I'm sorry but this sounds like a guy who is looking for $ and is determined to capitalize on sharing a slutty past with rich, powerful men. Of course I could be wrong but it just seems logical that if a crime was committed and money was not the objective, a victim would go to the police or tell someone or seek help in the same few years as the incident. I was an underage, sexually active gay twink many years ago and unless I was handcuffed and put in a crate, I owned everything I did no matter how regrettable or sleazy. I wasn't present for this guy's tale so I could be terribly wrong, but there is some pretty heavy Karma for those who manipulate and accuse the innocent for cash reward. just sayin!
