The Annual Friends Reunion Story With A Twist

About once a year, or whenever a former cast member from Friends is on a talk show, a question you know is coming is whether there will ever be a Friends reunion. Courteney Cox was on Letterman last night and he duly asked the question. The answer is about what you would expect. Courteney says there is never going to be a Friends reunion. That pretty much echoes what every other cast member has said, which means of course there probably will be one and it will be a huge surprise. What I think they should do is not have a full blown reunion show. I think they should film one episode and NBC should take the 22 minutes and divide it into 22 parts they show on Thursday nights in between episodes of shows in the old Friends time slot. Another bonus to that would be that people would actually watch the one minute episode because it would be in that area where your DVR always cuts off and then if you didn't record the next show, you never get the other part of what the people were saying.

Anyway, that went on longer then I meant it to, but something Courteney said was interesting. She says she can't even get the entire cast out to dinner. You know she could get Jennifer and Matthew and Lisa is not that big of a problem, so, I'm thinking that David Schwimmer or Matt LeBlanc is the hold out on the dinner. Maybe both. When they have these mini Friends reunions, they don't usually take part.

Why would they necessarily want to all get together. There's nothing to say they should all still (or ever have been) friends. Especially if they all live in different places (I have no idea where any of them live). It's not really that interesting.

Everyone knows Ross is a tool.

I always loathe those who turn their backs on the role that made them famous and wildly wealthy! Like it's all beneath them now. Geez, even Ron Howard ALWAYS participated in Mayberry reunions like the class act he is. I always think of the Olson twins who snub full house stuff at every turn.

I'd watch that. Judge me.

Schwimmer has always been the hold out.

David Schwimmer lives primarily in Chicago now. And regardless of their careers, they still have families and lives... maybe they just all aren't available on the same day or like Violet said - maybe they don't want to all get together..

I don't want a reunion but what I think would have been great would be a spin off show called The Bings. Monica and Chandler with the twins and maybe some guest appearances by the others.
That would have been so much better than that shitshow Joey.

Its just U, you're right! The Bings would be a great show!!!

I would watch a Friends reunion. And I wouldn't be ashamed. So there... :-)

Renoblondee, everybody would watch that.

@IJU, I love that idea! I would love a reunion, too, though, maybe centered around Thanksgiving since they did those episodes so well.

Ah, but that shit show, Joey, HAD to exist, IJU. Without it, Episodes would have missed out on a few awesome jokes.

I'd totally watch it.

I judge the people that wouldn't watch it

The pathetic part is that if they did a Thanksgiving reunion show every few years, I would watch it live, record it, and buy the DVD, and then buy the whole collection of those episodes DVDs. I am a Friends Fan!

She probably meant that since they all have lives and jetsetting ect it is hard to get them all together for a dinner. It's hard to get six of my friends together for a dinner. Quit trying to read too much into it. Enty is big on conspiracy theories today.

Court is looking more & more like a real housewife.

That is exactly what I was thinking, anda marie. Sort of a Kyle and Tamra mash up

Watching Friends really makes me miss the 90s. Good times, good times.

I live in France and they play Friends for 2-3 hour 2-3 times a day. So you get a good 2,5 hours of friends at lunch time and then again between 7 and 930.

It's dubbed in French but somehow I don't tire of it.

Oh @sandybrook give Seinfeld a try!

I would watch it!

Love the Bings idea, and if Ross and those blinding white teeth hold out, have poor Rachel a widow!

I would watch just to see younger Elaine JoElla but I never found him to be the least bit funny.

Give them lots of money and a contract and I bet they'll all be there.

Meant to say, erm, "word", @ Texas rose.

Just shows how bad NBC has gotten to resurrect a show that is 20 years old. Soon Friends will be on one of those nostalgia stations, like MeTV.

I'd not only watch it, I'd buy it. Judge away.
