'Videodrome' And 'The Fly' Star Leslie Carlson Has Died

Leslie Carlson, best known for his work with horror director David Cronenberg has died. He was 81.

Carlson, who is perhaps best known in his starring role as the villain Barry Convex in Cronenberg's 1983 surrealist horror film Videodrome, went on to appear in three other films by Cronenberg, including the supernatural political thriller The Dead Zone, which came out the same year as Videodrome, and the 1986 body-horror classic The Fly, starring Jeff Goldblum.

i fucking love videodrome. so glad you mentioned it among his credits. super underrated movie and his performance is perfect in it.

I think I'd like to rewatch Videdrome. That was so triply when I was younger and I just didn't appreciate it.

The Dead Zone is one of my faves. I've crushed in Walken ever since. I know...I'm like the only one.

Videodrome was great! Very trippy and I believe a young Deborah Harry was in it as well...

Derek..Yes, it had Debby Harry in it. Now I'm going back and reading the plot summary and Trivia. Imma have to get my hands on it again.

I loved watching Dead Ringers the 1st time. Especially when the (spoiler) girlfriend figures them out. But it's too insane for repeat viewing.
