I think the blind you posted about this topic a couple of months ago must be b.s. since she apparently doesn't hate the Hanks family for ripping her off. That said the Tv show didn't do well and this sequel equated to giving her work.

I think the movie was funny & heartwarming & I am not interested in seeing the affair, the divorce, or the deaths. Leave it be!

i think we should relax with all the predictable-profits sequels and franchises and start showcasing some new talent and fresh writing.

Well, there's John Corbett. So there's that I suppose.

Was the tv show not punishment enough? Or the reality show? And is there not one single person of Greek heritage that is demure or mousey?

I'd rather see a Breakfast Club sequel where they reunite at a class reunion and Bender and Claire fall in love all over again and live happily ever after : )

....by which you mean of course acquire rights to obscure Asian films to butcher and Americanize (Bruckheimerize or Tarantinize?)?

No. Just no. The original movie was fine the way it was.

@sandybrooke, I don't think they've revealed it yet, but it sure was implied.

Can't say I care one way or the other.

Let me know when they get around to making a sequel to Muriel's Wedding.

That is definitely the blind I was thinking of 7.

It's actually going to be about parenthood, if Nia V's tweets are anything to go by:

(1 of 2) I'm working on the MBFGWedding sequel; now that I'm experiencing motherhood I feel ready to write this next chapter.

(2 of 2) A few jaded press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true.

I don't care either way. I never saw the first.

Snap..Love how she says she needs to write the next chapter. What she means is she's hoping to duplicate the payoff from the first surprise hit. NOT. GONNA.HAPPEN

Her career hasn't done much of anything since then, has it?

They make this tripe but won't make my script about Mecha Hitler developing an autonomous legion of killer cyborgs during the waning days of WWI, which offsets the debt that Germany had that caused his rise to power in our world. In this reality he works alongside the Allies as they battle a new WWII where it is the Allied Powers against the Axis of Vampires. It picks up in the 3rd act when Einstein is infected with the Vampirism gene AND the Werewold genes making him a vampire werewolf. Just wait until you see FDR take control of a mech suit and takes to the front lines and shows how to speak softly and carry a big stick. A big pointy laser stick.

Dude. I needed popcorn just to read your synopsis. A+ would read again.

I love the original. I'd probably watch the sequel just to see...bc I'm a sucker. Yes, I watched Bring it In 2 (but not 3), and mean Girls2 which is just horrible. My kids could have written a better plot to MG2

LowKey said...

@Rowdy-would totally watch that!

OK, this is totally OT for the OT of the day, but since no one is probably still reading yesterday's OT: I have found a source of Kinder Eggs in the US, right here in my neighborhood! It's a little Italian grocery store, and they had a whole slew of them up by the display; the gentleman behind the counter had never heard that they were supposedly illegal in this country, because he's apparently never had any trouble importing them.

So...how much will you guys pay me to send some your way? I'm still out of work and could use the money, so there will definitely be a *ahem* shipping and handling fee, you know... ;-)

I guess I was the only one underwhelmed by the original?
