I don't see the escalando here, though. You don't "have to have sex to make a baby" if you have fertility issues and are seeking fertility treatments. IVF isn't a pearl-clutcher, it's a way for couples with fertility issues to conceive and, um, it doesn't involve intercourse.

Yup. And if Hayden's actually gay but wanted to be a dad and Rachel's happy-she's always said she wanted to be a mom-I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with the situation beyond the fact that they're both allegedly living a lie. I hope their child will at least always be told the truth; it's no one else's business besides their own.
I'd be inclined to agree with you if it weren't for the fact that rumors have always been that her "boyfriend" is only sexually attracted to men.
But again, if it's true, I see nothing wrong with this at all besides the fact that they both have felt the need to always live a lie and take it this far. It makes me sad :(
Before I was married, but was in my early 40s, my gay male best friend and I considered doing this. Thought better of it, though, thank goodness! Wouldn't have been smart. But hey, I can see why women would do this with a gay bff.

I totally agree with Jack Ducky. Family doesn't have to look any particular way anymore and even if Hayden is gay, that doesn't mean that what started out as a Hollywood "bearding" situation didn't develop into an incredibly close and loving friendship over time. I kind of think them deciding to have a family together is sweet ❤️
Besides, who says that a single woman and gay man have to turn to donations and surrogacy to have their families? No matter what the situation truly is, their baby will be incredibly loved and have the benefit of living with both parents in the same home. And no, there's absolutely nothing wrong with single parenthood, but studies have shown that regardless if whether the parents are gay/straight/trans/whatever, children benefit greatly from having relationships with both parents if the home is stable and loving.
Happy for them just wish Hayden could live his truth outwardly! (IF being gay is his truth...)

I don't get why you're not surprised by the IVF yet are by the resulting pregnancy. (You do know what IVF is for right?) Lol. I mean, gay men's sperm works just the same as the straight ones!
Whatever the situation is, it is obviously working for both of them. They have been "togeyher" for ages, live together and are now expecting a child. They obviously like each and get along, so even if for some reason in the future one of them wants to be true to themselves with someone else, I am not seeing a mess acrimonious split in the future. The kid will be pretty lucky in that regard.
Well they really want the kid, does it really matter in the end how it was conceived ???
