Ok sandybrook..In memoriam you go..
Who?
I'm kidding, sandy, I'm kidding.
Rip. He was always good in any role.
A life well lived.
Sandy - your turn...
Thank you. RIP Eli. Another performer from my neighborhoos and high school. Could play anything and do anything (but I never heard him sing).
They just grabbed my trash. .what are the odds..book ended by both rips are the trash men.
98, holy cow! RIP, what a fantastic talent
Are u happy now, sandy?
Star of stage screen and televsion
Founded The Actor's Studio.
A true New Yorker all the way!
RIP Eli
RIP. very prolific actor indeed. He will be missed. A life well lived.
I guess Enty woke up late and his shaking fingers couldn't change the lineup.
RIP Eli, By aiding in establishing the Actor's Studio, you influenced generations of actors.
Thank You..
The guy was in The Godfather for crying out loud. Can't be much more iconic than that.
RIP
Nice career, nice life.
He was in The Magnificent Seven; one of the best films ever.
Very long life. He lived it well.
Now I have that theme song bouncing through my head, Sass.
What a terrific actor - he will be missed. Loved him in Holiday.
Married to Anne Jackson who was no slouch in the acting dept either. An Icon in the acting world, truly.
He was in something in the last 5 yrs I believe. Very frail but always an amazing actor.
Enties...
No offence but how about a lil more meat on the bone whilst writing about the dearly departed. SURE we could Google, but why not list a few of the actors films etc. its more respectful than "HE DIED...HE WAS AN ACTOR, SO MOURN...THERE...I MENTIONED HIM." kinda comes off like that.
SHEESH...Rip Eli
He was so awesome in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and The Magnificent Seven.
Thanks for all the great work! RIP.
^^^^ What she said! Well put, Fancy.
Didn't need to Google Eli Wallach. I just saw him in The Misfits.
Farewell, Tuco. I so loved your character.
Loved him in "The Misfits" and "Baby Doll".
What a career.
I suspect I'm one of the few who first thinks of his hilarious performance as Davis Leland in "How to Steal a Million." (1966)

Just remember, that Elmer Bernstein, who wrote that theme, also wrote the music for the second worst movie of all time, the unforgettable, Robot Monster!
Oh I so loved him on The Holiday... With Jude Law and Cameron Diaz.
If you haven't seen him in The Holiday you missed one of his cutest performances. He wasn't really known as a comedic actor, but he certainly pulled it off in this movie.
RIP -- one of my favorites.
Stars always have so much crap on their walls.....
Oh I loved him in The Holiday, what a wee doll! Sad times.
Check him out in Don Siegel's The Lineup (1958). Great actor.
Married, apparently happily, for 65 years to Anne Jackson. Most actors only reach that number by adding up all their wives.
Topper M - I also loved him in How To Steal a Million. So there are at least two of us out there.
RIP
Just watched EW as the (hot!) and sleazy ranch owner who tries to seduce the virgin in "Baby Doll."
He was good in everything he ever did. RIP.
It warms my heart when an announcement of this nature truly reflects the timely ending of a life well-lived. With all of the celebrities who can't treat another human being decently, battle demons, squander their talents,...it is refreshing to know that Eli Wallach knew how to count his blessings. He has left a legacy both on screen and off and is one of the few people who has left his world better than he found it.
Lucy...Very eloquently said. Bravo.
Last movie I remember him in was The Holiday. RIP Eli.
Awe :-/
RIP Eli.
Loved him in The Holiday also. RIP!
RIP Ugly.
Godspeed
Awww. Thanks Sherry!
