Off Topic

I saw some tourists yesterday taking photos in front of the Juicy Couture store. Don't they have those everywhere?

it was announced last week they are going out of business and closing all brick-and-mortar stores.

Juicy has jumped the shark. Hold your stuff for a year, sell it on eBay/Japan.

USA!! USA!! USA!!
So what we backed in? Bring on the knockout round

Whew, finally, OT.

I did not know there were still Juicy Couture stores. I was never cool enough to be into pink velour

I was just going to comment is JC even relevant anymore.

Different topic: Anyone notice how often JLo is singing live now? I saw her most recent concert and wooo... it was rough.

Hey sandy, I read an article that said the US coach is German and trying to get the Americans to play non-European style soccer. How is that working out? Are they playing up the warring German thing?

Sass71 said...

Enty, these reveals next Friday better be on par with releasing the Kraken. Give me some dirty Old Hollywood stuff.

Juicy got bought out a few years ago, right? I don't know. Maybe I'm thinking about another company.

MeanieRhysie said...

Nope, not in these parts!

We use to have them everywhere in Scottsdale I don't know if they're around anymore

whether there are a lot or a little...juicy couture isn't a store I would take a pic in front of.

The stores in NYC - Sachs Fifth Ave, Macy's and Tiffany's...especially Tiffany's, I could see. I always see people dressed as Audrey Hepburn, holding a bagel and a cup of coffee, posing in front of the Tiffany window on my way to work.

sandybrook said...

No not really TTM. He said his heritage national team background and friendship on the German team dont matter right now. They shouldn't play European style soccer in the World Cup they should play more like Brazil and Argentina

GatorGirl said...

Awww that's cute I would do that!

And since it IS OT: we started a morning pre-CDaN OT thread in the Bookie Wook club so everyone can say good morning without wanton losing her shite. Try it every morning for a bit, see if people wanna use it and don't wanna wait until noon to say good morning.

overpriced badly made sweats....never got it????

Juicy Couture is what's known as 'chavvy' here (horrible term but there you go). Footballers' wives stuff. Nobody I know would be seen dead in it. (We are v v tasteful).

The ones here in NYC are all gone...had everything 60% off, got a backpack and wallet out of it

discoflux said...

Thankfully, no.

Not here.

I have a problem with pink velour that I can't afford. Even if I could stomach the clothes, I could never spend north of $150 on a track suit

Seven of Eleven said...

Is Juicy Couture the one that started the sweatpants with words across your backside trend?

Karma, baby.

surfer said...

That's it Seven.

Seriously, who wears velour except grandmas?

Having "juicy" printed on your ass can last so long.

Also, is it suddenly 2000 again?? Never mind the fact that, I mean, WHO wastes megabytes on taking a picture in front of a store?! In all of my travels over the years, this has never been something that I or anyone else I know-has ever been interested in doing.

is it 2004?

WTF is that juicy couture (whatever) thing? Apparently it is a store.
Has it seminaked whores like that Amsterdam suburb? Why would anyone picture some store?

Sherry said...

Yep going out of biz because they were crappy. Sionara!

TV Junkie said...

Never been to or even seen one. We don't have things like that here.

Aw, I'm sad Juicy going out of business. The pants with "Juicy" across the rear end were tacky and stupid but they did have some nice stuff there too. I have a great sweater dress with stripes that I got from Juicy and you can't tell it's from that store unless you look reallllly closely at the buttons and see the little Juicy crown.

IMO Juicy's problem is that it never evolved. Even after 15 years it was still known for velour sweats with words on the ass.

I used to work for JC. They were bought by Liz Claiborne which also owned Kate Spade and Lucky Brand. They were always going to be known for hideous tracksuits and those velour purses, but they had a great range of fashion that just never took off. 85% of what they sold was tracksuits, purses, and those hideous charm bracelets that turned green inside a month. $50 a pop and people were always scandalized when they turned lol. But I'm not gonna lie - nothing beats a Juicy tracksuit for a long drive or flight, or hanging hot around the house. I don't know how they did it, but the fit on those tracksuits was perfection. Others tried and failed to create a flattering tracksuit. I still have a stack of them - all neutral colors with nothing on the ass!

I never came across their clothes where I live but their first perfume is still one of my favorites.
