Broadway lost one of its strongest and most enduring voices Thursday when Elaine Stritch – actress, singer, and sharp-tongued force of nature died. She was 89.

Paraphrasing:

I had the honor of meeting this wonderful woman and being in an acting class she was teaching. Mouth like a truck driver, but funny as hell.

She was the absolute best, such a legend. Did anyone see the video of her dropping the F bomb on the Today show? Hysterical. To have such a life and such spunk and such a career, that's the dream.

She was and is a great talent and lady. I loved the story she told in one of her shows how she left Ben Gazzara for Rock Hudson. She said you know how THAT turned out!
