Didn't he come out specifically to say the film was true to his work or whatever? I mean it's being made by Disney Wtf would you expect?

Have you heard the "Hello, Little Girl" song? Sondheim was not surprised they didn't keep it. He also said he worked with LaPine and Marshall directly for the translation from stage to screen.

Did you know that as a hobby Stephen Sondheim writes cryptic crossword puzzles, and they're fabulous? For those who don't know, a cryptic crossword has clues that involve wordplay as well as definitions. They're devilishly hard to solve - and even harder to create.

LOVE SONDHEIM MORE THAN ANYTHING! Just had to get that out first. But yeah. I knew Disney would suck anything grown-up out of ITW. I really wish any other company was putting it out... that and that Bernadette Peters was the witch over Meryl. She sings better, looks better, and has more presence.

Doesn't matter. I can always cuddle my DVD with Bernadette as the Witch and pretend this never happened when this movie inevitably shits the bed.
