Sam Smith but Mr. Cannon apparently has the tea to refute...

Rose Lizenberg said...

I'm confused (shocker). If he/she is openly gay, why is this a blind? Is it the virgin part? Not trying to be troll-y. I'm perplexed.

Me too. Sam Smith is openly gay, but I don't think Lorde has said anything about her orientation has she?

Rose Lizenberg said...

@basil - not that I know of

Rita Ora :D

Sam Smith is gay, but he already has two hits, the money one and other which is all the time in MTV (the UK version, which I have on my cable).

Aeol said...

But she is in a long term relationship with a dude.

Rose Lizenberg said...

OT: tmz is saying Joan Rivers is now on life support :(

Tricia S said...

Nooo.

Steampunk Jazz said...

C'mon Joan! You can do it! Quick, we need to get some Star to dress poorly and visit her hospital room! STAT!

Rose Lizenberg said...

Afraid so :(

poppyfresh said...

Sam Smith. He already stated this so why is this a blind. This reads more like a trivia question.

Yeoman Princess said...

LMAO!!!!!!!!!! I feel awful for laughing... but that's a good one!

Sam Smith has a hit??? I thought he was just a friend of the Ktrash and someone was trying to make him happen.

sugarbread maker said...

love stay w/ me

texas rose said...

OMG! What is this world coming too. Just listened to some of his stuff on youtube. Now which of these snoozers is supposed to be a hit???? I hope he is a one hit wonder in that case although every song sounds the same- moany and slow. Maybe he can do soundtracks for sad drama/romance flicks.

Sherry said...

Oh no! Sad day. Looks also like my darling Ethel cat is slowing moving to the rainbow bridge as well. Sorry to lump an unknown pet with a comedic icon. Just had to share.

texas rose said...

He's probably a virgin because he puts on one of his albums when he is with someone and they node off before they can do the deed.

Rose Lizenberg said...

Sorry to hear that, Sherry. Facing the end of a furry family member's life isn't easy :(

Yoj said...

@Sherry
Oh no, Sherry! I'm so sorry.
I do love her name, though.

Yoj said...

Sam Smith's album was #2 in the U.S. and 'Stay with Me' was #1. Would that be enough to make him A-list?

Count Jerkula said...

What constitutes losing yer cherry for the gays: fucking a butt or getting butt fucked, or do y'all keep separate stats?

texas rose said...

Yoj - are you sure that wasn't some other Sam Smith? That is a common name.

rosie riveter said...

Sherry, im sure your unknown pet has shown more sweetness and empathy in its life than that particular famous icon- best wishes to you-

Karen said...

@Sherry, I'm so sorry!!

Yoj said...

@texas rose
I take it you're not a fan :)

texas rose said...

Yoj- you are correct. Not the first time my opinion has apparently differed from the music buying public. Sorry to all the Sam Smith fans, just trying to be funny.

Sherry said...

Thanks Yoj. Her litter mate and sister is Lucy. She's seen over 20 yrs on this planet with me so I shouldn't be so greedy to want more. She's always been the grand dame of the house and the most loveable cat ever.

audrey said...

@Sherry....so sorry to hear about your Ethel.

MeanieRhysie said...

Sherry, darling, I'm so sorry to hear about sweet Ethel. I know you've been an absolutely wonderful human to her and Lucy. Much love and tight, tight hugs to you. <3

Yoj said...

@texas rose
If you were mainstream, texas, you wouldn't fit in so well here at CDaN.

Sherry said...

Thank you Rosie and Rose. I appreciate your kind words.

Rose Lizenberg said...

20 years is a lot of memories. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Yoj said...

@Sherry
Twenty years! You've obviously taken tremendously good care of her.
With a name like Ethel, she'd have to be lady of the house.
Please hug little Lucy for me, and Ethel too, if it wouldn't cause her pain.

Sherry said...

Karen, Audrey and Meanie. Thanks to all of you. Your tenderness is very welcomed at this time. I have loved her for so long. It's time but hard to say good bye.

saffron d said...

@Sherry. I am so sorry. Me too, my dog was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma this week. Have to amputate his leg

Northbynorthwest said...

IDK, as a straight guy myself, Count.

Maybe you can first tell us what did you considering losing yer cherry as? Oral sex, vaginal sex, or when your girl used a strap-on on you?

;)

Tricia S said...

Sherry just jumped back on thread...thoughts to you...I just Had to find homes for 2 of my rescues after 2(years because of dog rules where I live..( moved into new place)...it's brutal..but we did good and they will be happy. Hope Ethel finds peace

Unknown said...

Sherry, I'm sorry you're losing your sweetheart. I had to have mine euthanized June 25th and am still traumatized. Mind you he was too young, but after battling and winning multiple health problems caused by severe neglect, he developed cancer. Sometimes life just isn't fair... At least he had 19 happy months with me.

I'm dealing with another impending death of a much loved furball. But he is much older. Still, we've battled and won a few infections that I thought would take him down once and for all. I didn't go into work on Thursday & Friday because of my "dying pet". My boss was less than impressed. He really did almost die, though. I even had an appointment booked for euthanasia.

But the antibiotic we chose is working (shot in the dark) and he's gaining ground. Still isn't walking very well. I'm buying time with this disease-ridden creature, and I'm grateful for every additional day I get with him.

Another OT - looks like Joan Rivers is losing her battle too, according to TMZ. It's not just a medically induced coma. She's on full life support. This can't be good...

Jessi said...

Hugs to you Sherry!

Yoj said...

@saffron d
Please accept my best wishes for you and your darling dog.

Yoj said...

@Tricia S
That must have been a great sacrifice, Tricia. I'm sending you a hug.
I can't have pets in my building, either. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself, but then I read about the heartbreak of bereaved owners and realize that I have no cause to complain.

Count Jerkula said...

@sherry: big hug, babe.

@NxNW: 25y/o, 1st skin2skin in a babyhole. For straight men and women that is the only answer. If you don't have fat in the fire, the ya aint cookin.

Yoj said...

@Unknown
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
You gave him nineteen months of love and happiness. He couldn't have asked for a better life.
I hope your other cat/dog(?) recovers.

Robin the Mad Photographer said...

I'm sorry, Sherry, and Unknown too--we love our furballs and do our best for them, but in the end they just don't live as long as we do. *hugs* At least Ethel had a good long life, and Unknown, your boy had 19 good months with someone who loved him. *more hugs*

Tricia S said...

@ yoj....as always, your articulation and sentiment makes me me smile:)
Thank you...

MeanieRhysie said...

Damn it, guys, my sinuses can't take any more of this. :'(

I hate that our furrables don't live as long as we'd like. They give us so much. I miss each and every kitty that I've been fortunate to be human to. <3

@Lady Heisenberg
Um...you're talking about sports, right? Congratulations, Lady H.

Tallulah said...

I'm so sorry. It's hard to let go.

Brenda L said...

@Sherry....20 years! Just think, that cat has had a full and wonderful life that other cats out there only dream of, and all because of you and the life you provided for her! I firmly believe this means only good things in the big grand picture of life. I know your Ethel loves you very much! :)

Lady Heisenberg said...

LOL @yoj! thanks for the vintage HOFFMAN, it was exquisite!

Yoj said...

@Lady Heisenberg
Welcome, Lady H.
Only for you would I be googling 'Padres Baseball' News to find out who was inducted this week, then googling 'Trevor Hoffman' Images. That's unheard of for someone whose interest in sports starts and ends with hay-eating four-legged creatures.

mooshki said...

So Joan, was yet another plastic surgery worth it? :(

Nipple said...

Not a one hit wonder.

Nipple said...

Shes BFFs w Taylor Swift. Just saying.

Nipple said...

If Rita Ora is a virgin that would explain Beyonce's fake baby bump.

CanadianMiss said...

A virgin past the age of 16. Horrid and scandalous!
It does happen,you know...

Clark St. said...

@mmoshki: It's unlikely that Joan Rivers was having plastic surgery at an outpatient endoscopy center.
She probably was getting something done on her vocal cords, as the reports say.
But at her age, 81, that stuff should be done in the hospital, as an inpatient.
I'm not a doctor, but I'll guess her vocal cords spasmed & prevented her from breathing & they had no way to quickly fix that in the endoscopy center.
TMZ has online that she's on full mechanical life support & her daughter is waiting out the weekend to see if she improves or has to pull the plug.

@Sherry, I am truly sorry about Ethel..there's nothing like that unconditional love & for 20 years-no words,but all my thoughts. :)

skippy said...

Sherry , I hope you're ok. It's hard to feel so helpless when your friend is suffering. I'm sure Ethel snuggled with you through all the things life throws at you.
Huge hugs to you & Lucy, & extra huge ones for Ethel.

Sherry said...

Unknown: having to put down your beloved pet is still inconceivable to me. My heart goes out to you and then couple that with having to deal with the other. Well I shudder at the thought. Thank goodness the meds are working.

Sherry said...

Saffron, you did what you can to alleviate your darling pets pain. Bravo sweet darling.

Sherry said...

Lady H, Brenda, Count, Rolo, et al. Thanks for everyone for your sympathies. It truly means so much to me. Much love to all. And of course my hugs to anyone who is dealing with or who has had to say goodbye to a do, cat, horse (Count) or any animal who has made us appreciate the beauty of other sentient beings we've shared our lives with. How anyone can say they don't love or have real feelings I will never understand. Those heartless souls miss out on the beauty of this world. Selah.

Mark B said...

Obviously Sam Smith.

Lorde isn't out, for one thing.

Bee Haven said...

Belated well wishes being sent to you Sherry, and Ethel. I really feel for you. So sad. I'm guessing you have so many beautiful memories. Animals get us in a way others don't. My heart goes out to you.

Bee Haven said...

Unknown: so so sad for you. God I just want to squeeze my kitties and puppies and never think of us parting. My heart goes out to you.

Bee Haven said...

My condolences Saffron. I hope you're able to take time out to grieve.

Bee Haven said...

That must've been so tough for you Tricia. Now I've got the sads for everyone....

Bee Haven said...

Ha!@Steampunk!

@Count J: so THAT'S why all my catholic school female friends would do oral, hand, wrong hole etc but not their actual minges! They did still count themselves as virgins. Until we all went to uni, and their catholic guilt to hell.

Sam Smith....

He could happily sit a home for the rest of his life and live well, hes a great song writer and has guest vocals credits on a few hits before his solo success.

He's good

Prunella Buggerweeds said...

@Sherry, I had to let a kitty go in February. He and his brother came to me as feral kittens, they were my youngest, really bonded with each other, and I thought after my three older kitties went, that these two would be my "grow old beside the fireplace" cats.

But the universe had other plans for him. He got an aggressive cancer that saw lymph fluid gushing into his abdomen and then his chest cavity. I had no choice but to let him go. I drove him 75 miles at midnight on SuperBowl Sunday to a vet school where he'd been treated ... he had gotten used to the drive and even liked road trips! I knew I had a few hours before his breathing got really bad. I brought up his bed and his blankie and his favorite hairbrush, so everything would smell familiar. He was only seven years old, and he didn't know he was dying. He was so HAPPY the last hour of his life. And it being after midnight, everything was quiet at the vet school. I brushed him, and petted him, and he purred and kneaded, and then he went to sleep.

If you haven't let Ethel go yet, please be with her at the end. Let the last thing she sees be your loving face. And it will be a comfort to you to know that her passing was peaceful.

Then plant some flower seeds in your garden - they'll remind you of her when they grow.

Seven of Eleven said...

Such a weird BI. An "openly gay one hit wonder virgin"? Next we'll hear they can't drive.

Sherry, I'm so sorry to hear about Ethel. She's a lovely and lucky little lady to have both of you there for her in her last days. Many hugs to you, and to all who shared about losing their furry friends. Those little beasts worm their way into your heart and there's no going back. :')

Sherry said...

Prunella that was tragic but beautiful. Thank you for sharing your tale of pet love.

T. W. said...

Probably. This blind is hard for me because I don't keep up with today's music.

The Hideaway girl, from Canada. Can't remember how to spell her name. Starts with a k.

Sandy said...

There are virgins and there are...virgins. Maybe Sam hasn't done...everything.

HellToupee said...

What if he is a virgin, so what, somebody with a bit or moral bloody decency. There is more to life than sleeping around willy-nilly to be HIP?
