I expect any comic that grew up watching him owes their career to him.

Thank you, Jimmy. And Robin. God, this is still such a gut punch.

Jimmy looked like he was about to cry and did the best he could to NOT during the introduction.

Wow people loved him then too. Yup this is the big one Elizabeth.

Can't remember any actor/ comedian with such an outpouring of abject sadness on passing away.
Depression is terrible. You often get told 'buck up', get over it, have happy thoughts , or just get over it.
It's an illness, just like a physical illness. The difference is no one can see it. It's a constant struggle. Especially if you're funny & witty & try to cover up the black cloud that is always looming.
Don't be ashamed people, get the help you need.
A lot of people don't know how to get the help though.
Begin with being completely honest with a trusted GP. They will give you numbers of people who can help. As well as checking up with you.
If this is impossible due to money constraints etc, go into an emergency ward & ask. They can't charge you for a question .
Sometimes you're so used to it you don't know anything else. It's astounding to take whatever meds are prescribed & then feel like you've suddenly woken up.

Emergency room not ward. Ask to speak to the triage nurse. Not the person who takes your insurance number etc.

There are also interrupters available

Interpreters even!
