Oh my god. It was bad, but not Dexter level of a disgrace.
Now last nights Ray Donovan was my fave episode yet!

Sincerely,Your Friend said...

Never watched a single episode.
So naturally I'm all torn up inside.

Gayeld said...

I watched half of the first episode. It was idiotic, never watched again.

sandybrook said...

I watched Ray after ditching the VMAs. It was great his entire family sux.
About to close the door on True Blood in a few minutes. Kept watching over the years hoping it would be good again and it never was. Shameless is heading in that direction also.

I know a little about mediocre endings.

Okay.

I just started watching The Sopranos. Maybe in 10 years I'll watch True Blood?

And I also just started watching Girls. I love it!

Can anyone tell I just got my subscription to HBO Go?

WritergirlinLa said...

I guess Charlaine Harris is gearing up for a big trip to Wal-Mart now. Woo Hoo!

Seven of Eleven said...

SO watched and kept repeating lines to me. I almost burnt myself twice (cooking), I was laughing so hard. Then he would say "Beeeyullll" in this high pitched voice and I'd lose it again. :D

Sugar, I didn't think I would, but I actually liked Girls! If you haven't yet, put Six Feet Under on your marathon list - you won't regret it!

Lady Heisenberg said...

@Sugar: SOPRANOS was my favorite show until I saw BrBa!!! ENJOY!

Zach said...

Considering how difficult to watch TB was for several seasons due to convoluted supernatural storylines and too many new characters, the final season was a return to form. Yeah, it lost steam years ago and never bounced back. And yeah, the finale was disappointing to many including myself, as it was bound to be. But at least I was glued to the screen like I had been years ago!

TV Junkie said...

Don't tell me! I haven't started watching the series yet - been meaning to do that for years! Just kidding - spoil away! - I just won't read the comments.

Sugar said...

I've been getting suckered in to watching the BB marathons on Sunday night. My love for Jessie Pinkman lives on....

I learned where our very own Massive Gee got his troll name by watching The Sopranos too! The more you know.

MISCH said...

This whole season was awful….just awful

Lady Heisenberg said...

Oooooh please do share the origins of Massive Gee. I haven't watched the Sopranos in years.

Sugar said...

Allison Williams needs acting lessons but otherwise, I've really enjoyed Girls! I'm already into the 2nd season.

SugarTitz said...

I only started watching 2 years ago do I haven't wasted as much time on tb as most but the last 3 seasons were awful. Last night was pathetic. Sooo I'm guessing Eric is sookie baby daddy? ?

SugarTitz said...

Never saw first 4 season just last 3. Shit show indead.. no brba. 4sho..

Jason Blue Eyes said...

True Blood ended when Alan Ball left. With the exception of introducing the sexy Violet character, these two last seasons su-uuuucked.

SugarTitz said...

No Allison is playing her character Marnie perfectly. . Your supposed to hate her and she's supposed to be above you. .In her mind. That's her character.

SugarTitz said...

Yeah he left for Banshee which kicks ass.

Lady Heisenberg said...

@Zach
I posted this awesome article months ago, but seriously, yes, I wish everyone just fucking DIED already. That was the beauty and the curse of TB: it didn't have to follow any logic, and the writers took too much liberties in that. How are we- as viewers- supposed to give a fuck if nothing means anything, and if there is not any sense of permanence or consistency...
In sum, it was a fun ride with a lot of top notch eye candy and fucking in the dirt but I'm not sad to see it go...

Now that the series has finally found it's true death, let's all enjoy Snoop Dick's touching TB TRIBUTE

Sherry said...

I watched a few epi's of TB and I never got the draw. It was too silly for me to even want to waste my time with.

BrBa on the other hand was smart. Very smart.

He is an OG music dude that is in one or two episodes. It's Massive G though. I goofed that part.

From Wikilamedia:
Christopher and Adriana La Cerva dine at Le Cirque and attend the musical, Rent, in the theater in New York. After the show, while waiting for fast food, Christopher makes racist comments about the clientele of the restaurant. This draws the attention of rapper Massive Genius, who is also present at the burger joint. When it appears there might be violence, a cop tells Massive's friend, Orange J, that Christopher is an associate of the Soprano crew. Massive Genius dispatches Orange J to invite Christopher and Adriana to a party at his mansion in Englewood Cliffs. Adriana recognizes Massive Genius, respects his work, and urges Christopher to take her to the party. Christopher and Massive Genius talk business and while Christopher admires Massive Genius' gun collection, Massive Genius is similarly taken with Adriana. After the encounter, Adriana proposes that she should pursue a career as a music producer, and Christopher agrees, given her experience in listening to music. Her ex-boyfriend, Richie Santini, is the singer in a band called Visiting Day. Christopher agrees to put up the money for her to produce a demo for them.

Oh Dexter's ending was the WORST! I'm still pissed off about that one.

Lady Heisenberg said...

Great catch sugar!!!!
Did you also catch the following BrBa nod:
Juan Bolsa=Johnny Sacs

Count Jerkula said...

I liked the Ending of True Blood better than the ending of Sopranos.

HBO needs to get it in gear. True Blood, Boardwalk Empire and News Room ending back to back to back. Leftovers sucks, GOT has 1/10th the nudity so its going to start losing viewers, True Detective w/ new story and cast is a crap shoot, Girls sucks. Veep it the only solid show they got.

Sugar said...

I don't even hate Marni at all! I just think when she's 'acting' pissed she sucks and when she's supposed to be sad and crying, where are the tears??? I love that Shoshana girl.

rajahcat said...

best ep of Ray Donovan evah last night

rajahcat said...

and I agree that you are supposed to dislike Marnie

Allison is fine and plays the role the way she should

@Lady, even though I cared too much about the characters to see them all suffer an unpleasant date, I have to agree the writers wrote themselves into a corner. I think Tara's death offscreen (even though we saw a bit more of her afterward) was the last straw for most fans. I wanted happy endings for mostly everyone, but when the writers proved they could take life from a character (even a vampire) that nonchalantly and without regard for the audience's feelings, it was hard to understand what was at stake anymore (pun intended). I never watched Six Feet Under, but I think I would've preferred that kind of coda. If you're going to go three, four years in the future, then why not keep going? If you're going to have a wonderful flashback with Gran and have Bill talk about how humans become parents, and maybe get to meet their grandkids, then ---SPOILER---- why not show Sookie with long gray hair and her grandkids? Maybe it would've been corny, and sure, maybe not seeing her husband's face or getting to know him over the course of a season as we did with Bridget -- maybe that was the only way to preserve suspense and honor the Bill-Sookie relationship at the heart of the show. Maybe anything more would've been corny and forced, and yet I felt that for all these characters had been through, as long as they're alive and as long as some of them remain entangled with vampires, there's more story to tell. But I enjoyed the ride while it lasted, and I don't realistically think it could or should have gone on any longer than it did. I will miss my steamy summer Sundays though.

Ray Donovan show just gets better and better each week you think crikey how much more dysfunctional and illegal can this all get? You imagine is this what Naomi puts up with LOL. The magic is you still love Ray even though he is so flawed, cause he does have heart under all that stubble and you consider what he put up with as a kid with that father of his.

I watched a few minutes of True Blood it really jumped the shark.

Time indeed for some New Blood on HBO.

I would not count out True Detectives with a new cast and story, it is a good concept to attract A list movie actors who don't want to do a full time series, and I believe MM and WH are still the producers of the series...

Dexter ending was a true cop out.

too stupid; didn't care.

It was boring and too neatly wrapped up. Except.....

Where the hell was Lafayette? And why did Hoytes girlfriend get so much screen time? Which director was she fucking?

Zoe Cialite said...

I'll miss Pam the most.

sandybrook said...

Well that was pretty disappointing. Not surprised though.

PghGirl said...

+1 on missing Pam. She had the best lines ever. "
◾"Sookie i am so over Sookie and Her Precious Fairy Vagina and Her Unbelievably Stupid Name F*** Sookie!"
and my personal favorite
◾"Do not tell me you'll put our entire species at risk for a gash in a sundress."
Priceless...

Lady Heisenberg said...

Forgeddabouddit! That was beautifully written and couldn't agree more @zach. :)

rajahcat said...

hahahahaha

she did have some great lines......great actress also

and I kinda liked the lovely Jessica......baby vamp

Snapdragon said...

Oh, that ending was LAME ass. They hinted at so many more interesting resolutions (and no more unbelievable than some of the other bullshit they've pulled) and then let those tantalizing loose ends dangle in the wind and die on the vine

Spoilers!
What about Sookie being attracted to vampires because she can't read their minds? What about what Sookie wanted? Bill and Eric just sort of decided what was best for her. And what kind of a dick move was it to have him ask her to do what he asked? She could have fucking adopted, ffs, and not ended up with some anonymous sperm donor.

Yeah, I'm a little POed for the let down after sticking it out through the whole 7 seasons, the majority of which were themselves disappointing.

I loved it, I loved the characters, I loved the writing and the ever stranger happenings in Bon Temps. It veered off the books so long ago that it was it's very own unique thing and I'll admit I'm going to miss everyone from the show.

I'm going to miss boardwalk empire too, but I do agree Ray Donovan is the bomb. The leftovers is soooo depressing it's nearly unwatchable. Or at least I can't get through one episode yet. Sundays were fun because of the creative programming HBO used to do, I hope they come up with more really interesting and off the wall shows in the future.

Lady Heisenberg said...

Word @Omar

@pghgirl: Don't forget THIS epic Pam moment <3

Freya said...

As one who was #TrueToTheEnd, this whole season was awful.
Piss poor writing.
Lafayette should have gotten at least a couple of lines.
Did anyone see Charlaine Harris in the finale? I didn't see her.
And did Tara's mother die? I saw someone mention it on Twitter. I must have went to sleep at some point.

Clark St. said...

Lafayette was seated at the picnic table in the last shot.
As for the GF, it was a leadup to Jason marrying her & settling down with kids in the last shot.

Otherwise, this season did really suck, the entire Hep-V mess made no sense.
But I did like what happened to Sara Newlin!

SugarTitz said...

tara's mother was at the picnic table at the end. lafayette got the short end of the stick.. he might as well have taken a seat next to tara..
has anyone figured out yet if eric fathered sookie's baby??

SugarTitz said...

just finished last night's ray donovan directed by liev.. hot hot. ray d is awesome. hbo shows suck ass now.. after the newsroom only girls will be left, and that's not enough paying a $subscription for.

supapimp said...

TB got too whiny. Not enough action. Meh

Snapdragon said...

How on earth could Eric have fathered Sookie's baby? Besides, Eric sort of vowed to keep his distance. He's too busy being smarmy CEO Eric anyway. (I didn't dislike that.)

Sookie was shown embracing a tallish, dark-haired bearded man who sat at the head of the table (sort of Alcide-y). That's obviously meant to be her dude :P

Orvilla Bedinbacher said...

Brian Buckner is on my shit list! FU, Brian!

Unknown said...

I sort of liked the TB finale. There was closure, even if there was a glaring lack of Lafayette (please hooker!). Sookie had her family around her and a baby on the way, what she always wanted.

Yeoman Princess said...

I was hoping since, Bill felt more human and getting warm... that Sookie would've gotten pregnant! You know a living swimmer breaks through!

Jennmcn said...

I'll miss Eric sans clothes, Lafayette's everything and Pam's deadpan wisecracks. I just stopped caring about Sookie and Beeeeel back in season one.

Count Jerkula said...

In order of importance, My Beefs w/ True Blood:

1) I didn't get to see Sarah Newland naked.

2) I didn't get to see Hoyt's Alaska GF naked.

3) I didn't get to see baby vamp Jessica Naked.

I love Alan Ball produced shows- True Blood and Six Feet Under had satisfying finalés (though Six was the best I've seen). Can't wait to see what he does next...
Humblebrag: About 2 years into True Blood, we went to a Halloween Ball in New Orleans called "The Black and Gold Ball". It featured a book auction, Charlane Harris who I got to meet because I was slipped past the velvet rope- (I know, it was naughty), as well as the band who played the theme song as some of the entertainment... Good times!
