Today's Blind Items - The Director

This A+ list mostly movie actor is terrified right now that he is going to be forced out of the closet by the director he has worked with so often. The director, probably close to A list is married, but is going to come out in the next few weeks. He has already started telling those close to him and there is talk of him writing a book or at least an in depth article about his journey and that he will name some names or hint very strongly at names that he has been lovers with in the past and our A+ lister is one of those people.

    1. Renner's not even close to A+.

      A solid B+ / simple A - I'd agree with.

However, not sure if Cuesta is married again.

Cruise could be the A+ actor but who would be the director? Bird?

    1. Totally agree Renoblondee. It's obviously taken person in question to come to terms with, and garner the courage to come out. Definitely not his place however to do so for others who are not at the sane point as him. Really lousy.

  4. Renner is not A+ list but according to Enty,Bradley Cooper or RDJ is

    1. I always got a strong gay vibe from rdj. I could see him having an arrangement with Susan. Seems like they have a close relationship even if it is Platonic, which is nice. Not sure coming out would hurt they guy though. People love him

  9. I like that, Derek. There's nothing iffy about Clooney's A+ rating.

  10. I always forget Sodenberg is married to a woman. He really gives off the gay vibe especially during interviews.

    1. Soderberg got an Australian actress pregnant years ago when he was producing and directing a play there but Jules Asner who I thought was the shit on E! In the 90s With Steve Kmetko stayed with him..

  11. Well whoever the director is, he sounds like an asshole to me. How lovely of you to out others.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think Singer is uh outta the closet

It will never ACTUALLY happen anyway.

Like when a famous A list actress was suppose to announce her same sex marriage

or when one of The Hills girls was suppose to come out. If enty says "in a few weeks..." don't hold your breath

I love me an epic bromance!

    Seriously asking. No shade.

  18. Robert Downey Jr. HAS ALWAYS AND Will ALWAYS Give off a gay vibe to me. I remember watching his movies as a kid and feeling uncomfortable watching another gay man. Movies like Less than Zero and Only You.

  25. Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon?
Contagion, Oceans 11, behind the Candelabra
    Or Soderbergh and Clooney?
Oceans 11, Syriana, Solaris, Out Of Sight

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think soderbergh(while excellent guess...is way above Almost A list...he has won oscars or had a zillion nominations....

    ReplyDelete
  27. Might as well throw out Favreau and Vince Vaughn.

  29. Scorsese and DiCaprio, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  30. LooLoo No way this it’s Fincher. Fisrt off all he’s not the kind of guy who would write a tell all book, he’s A for sure if not A+, he’s not married but he has a longtime partner whom he refers to as “my wife”. However they do look like an asexual couple.

  31. Spielberg - Ford
    Spielberg - Hanks
    Spielberg - Cruise
    Spielberg - Dreyfus

  32. Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro/Leonardo DiCaprio
    Christopher Nolan and Michael Caine
    Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon
    Wes Anderson and Bill Murray
Both Coen Brothers and John Goodman

    ReplyDelete
  33. Or baz luhrmann/DiCaprio

    Romeo n Juliet
    Great gatsby

    ReplyDelete
  34. My final guess---and I think I got this FTW---with help from Aunt Liddy

Barry Sonnenfeld who directed Will Smith in all 3 Men in Black movies and Wild Wild West. Both men are married.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Also I think it actor were married, it would state it(like it did director)

    ReplyDelete
  36. So can we really expect a big name director to come out in the next few weeks? Or will nothing happen and we'll all forget about this because we have short memories/attention spans?

    ReplyDelete
  37. "Will Smith kept his Men In Black 3 director Barry Sonnenfeld on his toes while filming the new movie as he would frequently grab the filmmaker and wrestle him to the ground.

The pair has maintained a close friendship since shooting the first installment of the alien action comedy in 1997 and Smith often let loose on the set of the new sequel by messing around with Sonnenfeld whenever the cameras stopped rolling."

    ReplyDelete
  38. Soderberg Damon
Soderberg is married to the golddigger Jules Asner who used to be on E!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't see any director who wants to continue making movies in Hollywood threatening to name names if he decides to come out of the closet. If he is desperate for money that's another story.

    ReplyDelete
  40. And maybe the actor is an overreactor LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Fincher is so private you have to be a Gary Oldman fan to know he was ever married, since Gary married his ex-wife, that Oldman then divorced in 2001.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Any more guesses??? There are probably still a few A+ actors and some close to A directors that haven't been named. I wish someone actually maintained a database of the blinds with these types of clues to see if any validity to them. In this case if a 'close to A list director' who is married comes out in the next few weeks we will have our answer (at least to half the blind which may make it easier to guess the A+ actor).

    ReplyDelete
  43. Soderbergh has a gay brother who has been out of the closet for years. This does not sound like his M.O.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @derek-RDJ has admitted to having male relationships in the past. Said he and his best friend had sex when no girls were available. Did an interview in Glamour, quite a few years back where he discussed fashion and color palettes. Not that it makes one gay, but he isn't afraid of being considered effeminate. He DOES give off a gay vibe in those movies.

  45. I like both of Derek's guesses as well! Both totally solid!

Will Smith is definitely into the dudes. I know someone who had to sign a NDA over a decade ago...

    ReplyDelete
  46. I freaking despise people who think it is their business to out other people who aren't ready to come out. It is such a lowlife thing to do.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm liking @Derek's guess on this

Will Smith and Sonnenfeld - although admittedly I don't know my directors that well

    ReplyDelete
  48. Not to poo poo anyone's guesses but some of these seem so out of the question..Scorcese and Leo? No hell nah..Coen Bros? Michael Caine..Are you guys just making me laugh?

I'm with whoever said take yourself out but leave all your other friends in the closet. Just. Not. Cool.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tom Cruise has worked with JJ Abrams a bunch, hasn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Gus Van Sant and Damon?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Gus Van Sant is VERY OUT-----And he is a perv/borderline pedophile (he likes em young)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know this is a super charged topic and I don't mean to be insensitive but do have an actual question. I'm a hetero female but have never had to 'come out' as being straight. If we want to move toward a society where partner selection doesn't matter then why does it matter if you're 'out' as gay or not? I don't care and think you should just be happy, and if you were with someone then you were with them, are part of their story and what's the big deal if they talk about it? Does that make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Steve McQueen/Fassy

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Mother Hen---unfortunatly not everyone feels that way. Its all about Box Office. Gay actors would be the kiss of death and the local Cineplex in Conservative States.

    1. I suppose. Matt Bomer is so beautiful though and everyone still loves him! Just a thought. :)

  55. @Sherry...yes. I know for an absolute fact that Leo likes the boys.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Crila, I agree on Leo and the boys it was Scorcese that got me. I can never see him as gay. Not in a million.

      Delete
  56. @LK--I was not aware but according to Cheryl he fucked his guy friends when no one was around and has a flair for design lol *shrug*. His wife must be a hella secure --and I am sure those50 million dollar paychecks he brings home do not hurt....

    ReplyDelete
  57. How about Joel Schumacher for the director?

    Clooney for the actor?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm now re-thinking that it could be Will Smith. I don't think Scorsese would throw Leo under the bus.

I'm thinking maybe Will Smith/Peter Berg. Peter Berg is kinda cute.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Now my time to say I know that Berg PROBABLY isn't gay. I worked with him years ago. Never pinged my 'dar.

  59. Fincher and Spacey.
Yes, we all know about Spacey, but a book confirming it probably wouldn't be welcomed.
BTW, House of Cards rocked. I binged all 26 episodes in about 3 days

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think the only way to figure this out is to decide what A+ actor would freak out?

    RDJ-no.
    Depp-no.
    Clooney-no.
    Affleck-maybe.
    Cruise-yes.
    Smith-yes.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Sherry---I can never see Scorcese as almost A list though

    ReplyDelete
  62. @Sherry...gotcha. I agree. I changed my answer to Will Smith and one of his directors.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The actors who are rumored to likey the boys.

    1. Will Smith
    2. Leo D
    3. George Clooney
    4. Tom Cruise

Actors who have had rumors about diddling around with men.

    1. Affleck
    2. Brad Pitt (he did it to further his career...and it broke my heart.)
    3. Matt Damon (it pains me to say it)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Schumacher's been out since WWII...

Soderbergh strikes me as possible. He "retired" from directing movies and is currently working as the cinematographer and editor on Magic Mike XXL. Which is odd to say the least unless you're a gay guy who wants to look at pictures of nude guys and then carefully edit out their full-frontals..

Possibilities on the A+ list (who have all worked with Soderbergh and who have all had gay rumors - however unlikely - about them): Damon, Pitt, Clooney, McConaughey, Tatum

    One of those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have to laugh at the posters who are indignant about the director outing an actor when the director isn't out yet and hasn't outed anyone.

In any case, I have very little sympathy for multimillionaire closet cases.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @IJU, I'm thinking of watching House of Cards. Love Kevin!

@dexamyl, don't laugh at the posters, laugh at the person who came up with this very creative BI that sounds straight out of UNCENSORED magazine (motto: all the names... all the facts; headline: Toronto: New World Capital for Homos - I wish I was making that up but it was a real headline!).

I've always liked Spacey but I've never liked Robin Wright, ever, but I did in that show. It's very good.

  70. Dennis Villeneuve for Director
    Jake G for the actor

  72. Gosling/Refn is a great guess

    ReplyDelete
  73. Crila...Like your last post..Makes perfect sense.

  74. David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen.

  75. Although my guess was baz lurham/ Leo half a day ago lol..

I'm throwing in guy ritchie/ Jason stratham

    Sherlock Holmes 1/2
    Revolver
    Snatch
Lock stock n 2 smoking barrels

    ReplyDelete
  76. Viggo wouldnt care, it would fit in with his freeballing life.
Has Cooper worked with one director often?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Christopher Nolan and any of the dozens of males he uses in every single fucking movie of his?

    ReplyDelete
  78. It's definitely Baz Luhrmann.

    ReplyDelete
  79. If Luhrmann is coming out as gay and has started reaching out to the people close to him, I find it hard to believe that nobody had suspected anything.

Come on, he directed Moulin Rouge, and among the things that are less flamboyantly gay than Moulin Rouge, there is:

    - a Cher video
    - Richard Simmons
    - a Gay Pride float for the San Francisco bear community
    - the soundtrack for Can't Stop the Music by The Village People (or the DVD)
    - the cast of a Broadway show
    - a Republican Senator in an airport men's restroom
    - a cockring shaped as a teddy bear saying "Yep, I'm gay"
    - ice skating
    - Big Gay Al
    - Ryan Murphy

    ReplyDelete
  80. Spielberg, Burton, Scorsese, Soderburg are A and A+++++ without any question. Can't be them. In world of directors, of gen pop knows them from more than one film, that's getting close to A. Knows them well? That's A.

    ReplyDelete
  81. @Mother Hen - How can you be so daft? Have you ever feared for your life by holding hands in public with your partner? When that isn't a big deal, then coming out won't be a big deal. Good grief. You should really try to educate yourself a bit before spouting nonsense from your place of privilege. You're like a white person who says she/he is 'colorblind' and hey, there's racism solved!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Zach Snyder\Henry Cavill

    ReplyDelete
  83. I doubt Depp, RDJ, or Clooney would be terrified. They all seem pretty chilled out.

DiCaprio? He's extremely careful about his public image. I can definitely see him panicking about this. The director isn't Scorsese though. It's Luhrmann.
