Good guess Etta. I don't think he had a talk show, but Game show could be what enty meant.
Berhardt did a talk show/ acts a bit/ and wrote that book which spawned the movie and phrase, so I thought of him. But it didn't say author in blind so---???

Definitely Ben Stein. There were rumors a few years ago about how he likes them young.
He never had a talk show, just that game show.
F.W.I.W.-- Ben Stein was a sometime commentator on CNBC's "The Kudrow Report" -- if that's considered a talk show---then he's your guy--but this IS BEN STEIN--he's been under investigation for this for over 10 years-- no secret..he lost all his sponsors,jobs,speaking contracts et al... a long time ago cuz of these allegations.

Freya- it's definitely meant to be him: his famous line came from the film "Ferris Buellers Day Off" - an iconic American film -in which he played a teacher who was calling off the attendance roll and came to "Bueller....Bueller...Buelller(who was playing hookey from school and it was the plot of the film). It echoed and echoed. Was funny , but I think gotta "watch it" type thing lol. Doesn't translate so well:(
