This barely hanging on to A list mostly movie actress got into a huge fight with her B list mostly movie actor boyfriend because she stopped eating to land a new role. When the couple went to dinner and she only ordered a side salad with no dressing the two started fighting and she walked out.

Just a thought..who would go to the trouble of going to a restaurant for a small bowl of lettuce? Even really nice organic lettuce? Unless they wanted to be publicly noticed-for fighting or starving-it makes no sense.
More interested in what the role might have been.
Because they are trying to have a normal date night with their boyfriend and that involves restaurants. I've done it and it may not be fun but it's normal.
I don't think this is that awful and I don't believe that's what they were fighting about, if they even fought. If she'd going to a restaurant & ordered a slice of lemon for her water glass & nothing else, that might be a thing. Ordering a side salad? Not much of a thing, in my opinion.

Side salads with dressing on the side are favorite orders of people with Eating disorders. Its very easy to pick at, has very little calories, and you can move the food around so it looks like you have eaten.

Its possible that this was at the end of a prolonged fasting period, and that JL thought she would order more, and instead he saw her doing an end run around eating.
he probably had no idea she was going to order just that when they went. i don't see anything weird about that. and it's probably been an issue and not just this one time which is why they fought over it.
Just vegetables? No dressing? FFS, order the dinner salad and pig right out on all that lettuce! Only 53 calories. :D
He sounds like a good boyfriend.
