Actually, he's from the south, Arkansas? I think, and his books are for infants and other people who can't read very well. Scott Turow is so much better in the legal thriller department.

John Grisham is actually from Mississippi. He grew up in my hometown of Southaven, Mississippi. He attended college at Mississippi State and University of Mississippi "Ole Miss" and was an Attorney in MS.
He's from Mississippi. That info is clearly stated on almost every book jacket. Ever notice his books are always set no further north than Memphis?
