Today's Blind Items - Don't Tell Anyone
Over the past few years bits and pieces of this story would trickle in. After first hearing about this story I made it a point to always ask about it if I ran into someone who worked on the show. The thing is, the show had a lot of workers on it but the number who knew anything or even today know all of the details is probably less than a handful. I know enough of the details to piece together what happened. The show was on a couple of decades ago. Long running. Enough of a hit to stay on the air, but not enough where you are probably going to binge watch it or be sad that it is gone. It was something to do if it was on. It was fortunate to benefit from stronger shows around it when networks didn't move things very often once locked in place. It had some decent listed television stars on it. For the two leads it was all about career comebacks and second chances. They made the most of it. It was supposed to be a family show. Lots of teens around. One of the female lead teens was in her mid-teens when the show began. There was always a lot of inappropriate touching and groping and comments on the set of the show. These female teens were harassed. It was common then. No TMZ back then. Everything was locked down on the studio sets. Definitely a guy's town. So, it was in the third season of filming. Around the fifth or sixth episode. The female teen lead who was close to turning 18, but not quite there yet, went to one of the producers and said she was pregnant. OK, so a teen pregnancy. It never would have been written into the show back then, but she was probably not going to start showing until the season was almost completed so they could always have her go to summer camp or something and cut her out of the final month of shooting and no one would be the wiser. One little problem with all of that. It turns out that the father of the baby was the husband of one of the stars of the show. When our teen actress informed the producer of this fact, it added a whole new dimension. The producer immediately called the star who rushed over from her trailer and then accused the teen of being a w**re and a homewrecker and that if the teen ever told anyone what happened that the teen would be sued and she would never work in the town again and just went on the biggest foul mouthed rant against the teen who was crying and shaking. At some point during the conversation the teen said she was planning on keeping the baby. That was the wrong thing to say. The actress then started accusing the teen of being a gold digger and that there was no way the teen was keeping the baby and there was no way the teen was even going to be able to give birth to the baby. The actress said the teen was going to get the pregnancy terminated and within an hour had two of her people show up and the actress, her people and the teen got into a car. The teen was driven to a doctor and had the abortion performed a short time later. The actress gave the teen some money and told her to make her own way back home. I love how this actress talks about how how close everyone on the show was and how everyone got along. It makes me sick. I have never said one nice thing about her on this site for a reason. I do my best to never even mention her.

I was thinking "Step by Step" too. I'm surprised SS didn't just perform the abortion herself with a ThighMaster, or force her to watch reruns of "She's the Sherif."

I love how wives ALWAYS blame the other woman. "She's a whore, a homewrecker!" You do know your husband banged another person by choice, right? Like....he made that choice to 'homewreck' your 'home'.
Angela Watson. This would have been late Sept/Early Oct 1993. Keanan already 18, Lakin barely 16, Watson a month from 18.
Also this is a crime since she wasn't 18 yet. Man didn't Suzanne have breast cancer? What a benefit to the human race it would have been if she had succumbed to that. Crossing my fingers for her future pain.
Christine Lackin would have only been around 14 in the 3rd season of the show. Angela Watson and Staci Keanan would both have been the right age for the Blind though.

This does sound like Step by Step. I am just pissed the actress didn't blame her cheating husband. The teen girl didn't get pregnant on her own.

@Derek got this with Step By Step--- Angela Watson for the teen-- she then sued her parents for defrauding her(terrible homelife) never acted again except for a couple of small thing; she went on a mission to protect child actors & their monies earned& on that Board(can't think of name now)

Well in fairness, all he said was that she looked great for her age. Whether you like or hate someone, that's kind of an objective fact. Also, perhaps Enty didnt' know the full story, if it is SS, back then.
Alan Hamel would have been 57/58 in 1994. Angela Watson would have been 18/19 during that same year. Let that sink in...

I never would have thought of this show, but you made a great point. It was definitely a comeback for Willie Aames and Scott Baio. I think you nailed it for the show...but who was Ellen Travolta married to at that time? Oh what about the mom lead on the show?

Even though Hammel would have been age 57/58...with all the plastic surgery he and SS get, he would have been looking closer to 45...Bastard!!! I did wonder why her castmates from 3s Company didnt embrace her... Somethings wobbly about her lower face...not sure why.
What about 8 Simple Rules? John Ritter and Katey Segal for the comeback stars, Kaley Cuoco for the teen. Kaley would have turned 18 in late 2003, the show ran from 2002-2005. Only trouble is Katey Segal wasn't married for most of the run (divorced in 2000 and remarried in 2004), but Entry could have fudged the exact relationship slightly - could be a serious SO or recent ex. Does Enty like Katey? I've never noticed either way.

For Charles in Charge-The 1984-1985 season with the Pembroke family aired on CBS. After one year CBS canceled the show so they remade it with the Powell family from 1987-1990. The episodes with the Powells aired in first run syndication (like Tyra, Judge Judy, etc).

@raye, Riiight?? & she's still with her Lothario. Suzanne Somers does brag that she & Alan still have sex up to 3x a day & come to think about it,she never specified that the sex was with Each Other!!!

Bullshit. Under 18, in the 90s? No way any abortion was performed without parental consent. And if there was, that's a whole load of lawsuits right there.

And Suzanne's always telling anyone who'll listen, or even those who won't, how much sex she has with Alan. This story pretty much reinforces the theory that the more you publicly brag about getting it, the less you likely are actually getting. What a biotch.
That is only 10-12 years ago. Not a couple of decades ago. Good guess, but too recent.
This makes sense, however Step by Step wasn't a comeback/second chance for Patrick Duffy. He had just come off of the 14 year run of Dallas, which ended in 1991, and Step by Step began in 1991.
