Even though a movie has started shooting with this B list mostly movie actress who has a stalled franchise, the studio is pressuring producers to dump her because she is considered box office poison. One bomb after another, including a very recent one.

I liked her in "Side Effects" and am looking forward to her performance with Cate B in "Carol."
Honestly, studios go primarily with who's hot at the time of casting and they also look to top actors and actresses to create credibility or tap a built in fan base. It's not based on art or acting, for the most part.
I could see Rooney carving out a niche for icy, cool, UES or Mainline princess a la Grace Kelly or Gwyneth (Emma / Talented Mr Ripley).
Some many actors have bombs on their resumes and are not considered box office poison. Rooney must be a handful.
I would be an actress/model too if I were fuggly, but my family was sooo rich they owned football teams.
I find her more attractive than her sister, who's a shit actor too IMO.
Someone once pointed out that her face is lopsided, with one side being bigger/wider than the other, and that's all I can see. That and her ugly smile with weird teeth. I laughed when the Sony hacked emails revealed that the studio was desperate to find a way to continue the franchise without her.

So does her sister, Kate. She never smiles.
I didn't think she was bad on House of Cards but then again, I was getting sick of her character so didn't mind saying goodbye to her role.
What an annoying character; I couldn't be happier when he pushed her ass under the train. She was miscast too, as it was supposed to be portrayed by an attractive actress.
She never was THE problem of Dragon Tatoo movies.The problem is that Fincher was too expensive and control freak ,the other books are not good and Craig wanted to be better paid

I like Rooney Mara and I am looking forward to "Carol".
She goes in & does her job & leaves--none of these endless selfies & instagrams & tweets of what the f*** she's wearing or baking or screwing.... she keeps her private life private.
Look here's the thing..."studios go primarily with who’s hot at the time of casting" well, how do people get "hot"? It's not always just random. Sometimes there are machines in place to generate this buzz. And sometimes I see it and think...they keep trying to make this person the next it thing and it just doesn't matter how much they shove he or she down our throats, we ain't buyin.
Kate Bosworth still gets work...but stop trying to push her as a leading actress. Barring some amazing latent something, we are just not on board. Same with Rooney Mara. It's just a nope.

Ok, are there any straight men/queer women on here? Both Rooney and (especially) Kate are super hot and have decently acted roles in which they weren't obnoxious characters. I will admit, their recent stylings aren't really my thing, but to call them unattractive, ugly, or untalened is quite a stretch.
