It was a turbulent time. In a time of tabloids, but not internet, and certainly not social media, the royal family was being knocked around by all kinds of cheating between Prince Charles and Camilla while Diana was hooking up with James Hewitt. Every person said she was worth it though. Charles had heard of her and even watched an episode of her show and it was arranged they would meet at a cocktail party. Just two people introducing themselves to each other. Charles needed discretion and our actress wanted the access and the money and something steady. The pair hit it off. For almost two years, the couple saw each other once a week. Apparently Charles paid her the sum of $10,000 a week which was about 10 times what she was making acting. She is an Academy Award winner/nominee.

Cathy Zeta Jones got her start in musical theater though, which isn't mentioned at all. Or she did a fair amount of it starting out as an known I thought? Otherwise she fits.
Her actress timeline fits this perfectly as well started in 1991, dated a tv host named John Leslie, got a British tv role in 1992.
If this is CZJ, I wonder if they had a quickie for old time's sake when he presented her with the Commander of the British Empire medal in 2010, at Buckingham Palace.

I don't see Helen Mirren. I don't remember exactly when Diana and Hewitt were together but it was late eighties I believe, by which time Mirren was a very well established actress. Don't see Salma Hayek either - as far as I know she never lived in England, and for Charles to see her weekly I'd think she almost would have had to.

Neither supporting parts in musical theatre nor a supporting part on Darling Buds paid much. However, at her permanent age of 29 she's much too young to have been a hooker for Charles back then. ;)
@Amal...Janet is one of my faves-other worldly talented ( lucky enough to have ad her as a teacher around the time or a bit after this blind takes place..) She is definitely saucy enough, trust me:))) but I think way to serious a thespian and she was doing spots on British tele atbthe time but no show I don't think. tons of theatre though...

If this is CZJ, I'm quite surprised; Charles usually goes for blondes who can fill out a sweater. CZJ was/is a beautiful woman, but certainly not his typical hook up.
