Knowing you are going to win in advance of receiving the actual award gives you time to work on your speech. Or, in this case having your A- list singer girlfriend write your speech so that you give her the proper attention she wants and to make it seem like everything is hunky dory, when it is not.

I can't believe these two are still together and planning a wedding. But then again Gaga reminds me of an unstable type who will hold on to the bitter end.
Maybe he is the unstable type...Just because she is not as conventionally attractive as he is does not make her the bad guy...

See, and I secretly suspect she's really shy and mousy at home. T-shirts, jeans, and flipflops everyday. And she's into coloring. The over-the-top stuff is work. When she's on her own time, bitch needs to relax.
Gaga is an Upper West Side rich kid who spent her whole life performing. And not just any performing - she dropped out of a serious art program to do a music/performance art act. Her type doesn't HAVE alone time - they are acutely uncomfortable with just being with themselves. They have to be "on" all the time, to be seen, to be the subject of attention, or they start... thinking. And that is to be avoided at all costs, probably because they don't like themselves very much. People like that - and I suspect Gaga is one of them - are practically allergic to self-reflection; they can't or won't or are terrified of turning their gaze inward to figure out who they are, so they construct themselves entirely through this elaborate and often provocative public persona. There's no "there" there, once you get past it.
