This B list singer/really good actor got forced by his PR team to fall on his sword to save face even though he really could care less about this A+ list singer. They thought his words could hurt him in the long run.

Taylor has clout, sure and I actually like her music. She can buy ppl, throw tantrums, etc., but that will never make her "pretty". Ever. Being so controlling just exposes insecurity.
What I want to know is why and who leaked the video of him cursing Taylor Swift. That was either a bad PR move or someone really wanted to mess with Jared's head.
I'm confused…by "powers that be" do you mean fans that pay for her music? Because that's where her clout comes from: download sales, ticket sales, millions of social media followers, ability to influence. There are no corporate music honchos happy that a girl in her 20's is able to dictate financial terms TO them.

She makes people a lot of money and has a lot of fans. As long as that remains true, other people will have to tread lightly when it comes to Taylor Swift.
On a more positive note, she is only marginally talented and her ascendancy won't last forever. One thing you can always rely on in show business, the people you fuck over when you're on the way up or at the top, will have their knives out and sharpened for you on your way down.
She will pay for this, just as Leto will pay for a few things (not this).
