Today's Blind Items - More Old Hollywood

There were so many extra blinds that I didn't get to yesterday, I am giving you some more.

#1 - This actress never really got above B list despite her acting resume and her family pedigree. She acted for nearly fifty years and probably took three times that many lovers in her career. Drugs and a partying lifestyle made her a scandal in her storied family. She once was almost deported from a country because of the number of high school boys and girls she slept with in one year.

#2 - The star of the most expensive movie ever made saw his studio career crash and burn because he would not marry a woman. Instead he lived with his publicist who was the king of kissing up to celebrities back in the day.

#3 - This actress married one of the greatest screen legends of Old Hollywood. The blind is not about her relationship with him though, it is about her relationship with a permanent A list actor who is an Academy Award winner/nominee. He wanted to marry the actress but his mom said no because the mom only wanted him to marry someone white. The actress in question was extremely jealous of her actor boyfriend. She once tried to shoot him as he boarded a train to go film a movie because he would not take her along. On another set she got into a fistfight with a permanent A list actress because she was getting too friendly with the actor.

1) Tallulah, not a big splash on films, but worked till the end and great name recognition. Bissexual. Country that almost deported her :England.

2) Ben-hur (movie) and Ramón Novarro(closeted actor)

3) Lupe Vélez; Gary Cooper's mom was against because she was mexican.

3-Sidney Portier for the actor? Married Joanna Shimkus. Have no clue about the actress

1. I keep thinking must be a Barrymore, but Diana died at 38 and Ethel hasn't a whisper of scandal in her background.

AWESOME!

3.Totally forgot Lupe was married to Johnny Weismuler aka Tarzan and had a torrid affair with GC.

1. T Bankhead, although the ratio of lovers to films was probably much higher than three to one;
2. R Navarro, the silent version of Ben Hur (although most references cite current movies as the most expensive i.e. Pirates of C., Hobbit, etc.); and
3. Lupe Velez, Johnny Weissmuller for the legendary husband, Gary Cooper for the almost shot boyfriend

2. R Navarro for the silent Ben Hur (albeit that most sources list current movies (i.e. Pirates of C., Hobbit etc) as most expensive even after adjusting for inflation,\; and
3. Lupe Velez, Johnny Weissmuller for her legendary hiusband and Gary Cooper for the almost shot boyfriend.

2-Gone with the Wind, Clark Gable. His publicist/manager when he was younger was an older woman that he owes his career to. He was her arm candy.

I think Montana nailed it. The Bankheads were a very prominent family, and Tallulah was much more famous than her actual career deserved.

Umm that was his much older first wife, who invested her savings to make his career and got pushed aside. He never admitted to being married to her
