She didn't talk to any of the cast while actually shooting the movie, so why should things be any different while promoting the movie. This former B+ list mostly television actress from a now in the dust pile of former hit network shows has been ignoring her fellow co-stars at screenings or forgetting to mention their names in interviews. In her mind, this was a one person film.

What is it that everyone seems to have against Katie Holmes? She's an average actress who gets average parts. She spends much quality time w/ her daughter and went to great lengths to keep her daughter out of the hell that is Scientology.
She Isn't in the tabloids showing her T&A like most of the other "popular celebrities," so what is it exactly that everyone has against her? As far as I'm concerned the only fault she had was marrying Tom Cruise, but she rectified that when she stealth-bombed the divorce on him, so in my eyes, she redeemed herself, but I still read a lot of nasty comments from posters...I don't get it...what did I miss that she did that was so God-awful horrible?

Agree with all the Blake guesses. Can't stand this twat. She was nasty to my friend who was a contact lens specialist on one of her movies. Said Blake was extremely difficult & if she hadn't been in another country, she would've bailed on the gig. Thankfully, my friend has infinite patience. I would've "accidentally" poked her eye out.
I think it's because she's and average actress who gets average parts, yet has been rammed down our throats for years because she opportunistically married Tom Cruise. I don't for one second believe that she was an innocent victim in that marriage, and I'm sure she got quite a nice settlement, so why are we all supposed to be all into her? Her 15 minutes are up.
blake fired her stylist after he left a hair clip in her hair and she was photographed with it. she went away from the carpet, pulled it out, and then made the photographers shoot her again.
pretty sure the photos WITH the clip in her hair are still out there.
She's a bit of a loser career wise and she's certainly publicity hungry (staged photos with Suri and fake are they aren't they thing with Jamie Foxx she pays for in the Daily Fail every other week etc). Her whole relationship with Cruise makes me very suspicious of her character. Even the so-called Ninja divorce was invented by her PR team - they'd split up months earlier, weren't living together anymore and had the occasional photo op to keep their publicity going. I just dislike her for failing to publicly condemn Scientology and apologise for taking advantage of all the freebies she enjoyed when she was married to its prize pig.
FYI I worked at an agency in the UK for a while. I know all about puff pieces. It was known internally as reputation management. As soon as the articles about the celeb clients were published it was my job to start praising their beauty and parenting skills. Daily Fail articles about Holmes fit this pattern.

i'm no Blake fan...don't care about her either way but I DO know that the 'firing her hairdresser' was a totally made up story! She laughed it off & simply took more pics w/o the hairclip-nobody got fired or chewed out..
I don't think she married him for the fame, honestly. I think she was infatuated with him. I remember reading interviews with her when she was on Dawson's Creek, and she'd gush about Tom Cruise being her first and biggest crush.
I think she's a little naive and it didn't know much about Scientology if you watch interviews with her during their relationship she seemed "off" like he had just fallen under Tom's spell and didn't really have much will of her own.
If anything, I think being married to Tom hurt her career. First there were the rumors that he refused to let her take certain roles and always wanted to be on set while she was working, plus she always had to have those damn Scientology "minders" with her on sets, which no one probably really appreciated.
Second, she became and will always be known as "Tom Cruise's wife and the mother of his child" because she hadn't gained enough fame on her own, like Nicole Kidman did, to be thought of as anything else. People probably don't want to hire her because it's distracting for the audience to not be able to see her as anything but Tom Cruise's ex.

Hi Claire. She's obviously ambitious but failed to capitalise on her notoriety after the divorce so your second point is very true. I think much of the other stuff you write is tabloid myth. Her own Dad said when they got together that she had never been a TC fan and that Tom Hanks was her favorite. She was photographed at plenty of events and did loads of interviews plus the Vanity Fair pictures of baby Suri were attended by her parents, so the controlling by minders doesn't fit the evidence. I'm younger than she is and not American - it's been well know throughout my lifetime that Scientology is deeply disturbing so I don't buy the excuse she didn't know what she was getting into. Remember they got together, pregnant and engaged quickly but waited a fair while after Suri was born to actually marry. Even if they had a contract, all contracts can be re-negotiated should any party wish it, something a lawyer's daughter would know, so she could have left any time she wanted. Anyway, that stuff's in the past. I want to her to do her bit for others like Leah Remini and Chaka Khan did. Admit she was an fool, apologise and help close down scientology for good. Her ex TC has been institutionalised by the CO$ and even though he gets favorable treatment I consider him to be one of it's victims. However she'd be helping him (& and their child) doing this.
She may very well be ambitious, BUT I was a huge fan of Dawson's Creek and teen magazines back when it first started, and I clearly remember a 1998 issue with KH on the cover. In the article, she says that she always had a crush on Tom Cruise and had posters on her wall and thought she was going to marry him some day. This was almost a decade before they got together.
I believe that Tom's "people" heard about her crush and figured she'd be easy to lure in unlike all the other actresses he "auditioned" but who turned him down and refused to get into that Sceintology BS.
Also, not being American probably means you would have been MORE exposed to information on the cult. The media coddled them here for the most part until Tom started acting crazy around the time he got together with Katie. Before the cult got so much press, I thought it was harmless and just a little silly. The hilarious thing is that Cruise totally ruined the reputation of the organization he was trying to promote!
And yes, I agree that Tom is completely brainwashed by that evil scum Miscavige, but I don't feel sorry for him because they spoil him rotten and he is given gifts and privileges that are paid for by slave labor and causing people to go into financial ruin. I think when he's old he's going to be very lonely and wish he hadn't disconnected from so many people.
So do you think less of Nicole Kidman who dumped her kids on Tom?
Somehow I doubt it.
