why do you say 'very nasty'.... it seems like Angie's been planning this for awhile,has her ammunition at the ready if needed,and they may already know who's gonna get what of their real estate-she wants physical custody of the kids,he'll have visitation & continue w/his architectural & acting/producing projects...she claimed the usual "irreconcilable differences" as the reason-isn't the media & the infaous anonymous 'Sources' throwing in the rest like the affair,drugs,bad parenting,etc....I don't think Angelina would drag the kids thru a drawn out nasty divorce & will do the negotiating privately.

If she cared for the kids, she wouldn't have asked sole custody, that alone has already starting putting Brad in the " unfit to raise the children" place, and is not a nice place.
ahhh, I didn't realize that she asked for Sole Physical Custody..Did she ask for him to only have Supervised Visitation?-now,THAT would lead me to think she didn't trust his judgement re: the kids...I assumed she simply asked for physical custody with her having prime residential custody of the children which just makes practical sense given their lifestyle & his schedule & he having visitation rights.
---I should note that haven't closely read the articles on how it was worded I just saw DM's headline of "irreconciliable differences" & "physical custody" - i guess i should read what was actually written in the document before commenting,*derp*

Maria, just came here to say the same thing. Joint legal custody means you both can make decisions about medical care, education, etc., but Joint physical custody means the children live "back and forth" between the parents. She's asking for Joint legal, but Sole physical custody - only affording Brad visitation. Seems like a PR move, given previous, multiple nanny statements that she doesn't do any of the "caretaking" herself...preferring to stay in her room, and let others take over. I think it's indirectly about his cheating, and apparent "falling out of love" with her (although she's had affairs with men and women). Reports that Brad is back to being carefree and "his old self" - as Lainey posits, indicate this is PR about the kids, because she doesn't want to be seen as the "left" woman in the marriage. She's a narcissist who wants to be seen as the most beautiful, desired woman - and her husband is showing he could care less. So, she's putting this out there first - it's about the KIDS, not about him filming and having affairs. Hard to believe she'd bring up substance abuse with her own issues, though. She looks like a walking drug addict most of the time. But, as they say, you lose them how you got them - there's a bit of Karma going on there!
