I guess technically this guy is a celebrity chef but he never actually cooks. He does a million other things but doesn’t cook or even own a restaurant. Whenever he goes out of town his wife always goes with him, but for his last jaunt she couldn’t and of course he cheated. He always does when she is not there. He thinks that when she does not go that it is her giving him permission.

Reading between the lines of their various recent interviews it sounds like their "unconventional marriage" did involve them having permission to stray.

This is the more devastating breakup imo.
A really, really nice guy. Always had a huge crush on him. Stopped him on the street at 42nd St. one afternoon years ago and he not only stopped but stood on the sidewalk with me for a good 20 minutes talking with me about a book he had written I really liked about Typhoid Mary. He walks on water, as far as I'm concerned. Sorry to hear about wife #2 not working out. He's the kind of free spirit who shouldn't be married. Guess he is finding that out the hard way.

I didn't know he was married until today. Doesn't sound like someone who should be.
I don't care. I met him at a book signing in Delray Beach about 10 years ago and he was really kind. About 10 line cooks showed up, didn't buy books but he posed for pictures with all of them.
Add me to the "but I still love him" list! ;)

No Surprise Here...Anthony Bourdain pretty much lays it all out there-he is what he is & he does what he does.. i thought he was ballsy & a funny arrogant after reading parts of his Kitchen Confidential book.

I was just reading about her involvement in jujutsu(sp?) and her using the term "unconventional marriage" in her comments about them..
Definitely a man on my to do list. I always thought it odd that he got married at all, but I think she saved him from himself.
I feel kind of bad for their daughter though.
