Nic Cave(formerly Nic Cave and the Bad Seeds). Outspoken, Definitely A list in England at a point,now he's touring solo(in a fan). His biggest inspiration was Leonard Cohen....

I can't either but he's pretty private,yet has been very - controversial at tomes(called a journalists nightmare)- even though he's touring now it's likely someone more current ---maybe Williams like you guessed - though he's been pretty upfront with his sexually in the past? Dunno ...
Cave has 4 kids by 3 different partners. No way is this him.

Oh, William has said many conflicting things, like he is gay in mind , but not in the body, or something like that and then has sued a paper that wrote that he engaged in gay sex, with his lawyer VERY worried to clarify that he is NOT gay, so..
to me he is at least " bicurious"
