This A+ list mostly movie actor ordered a $5000 bottle of wine. He went off is rocker though until the staff put a sparkler in the opened bottle of wine when they brought it to his table while out of the country.

I still don't understand about the sparkler.
Why did he have to leave the country to get his bottle back?
It's about conspicuous consumption. In the clubs, if you order a bottle over a certain amount, one or more waitresses bring it to your table with a bunch of sparklers going,parading through the whole place so that everybody knows you spent a lot of money on this bottle of whatever. He's just doing it for attention .
This makes little sense
Ben was on Graham Norton's with Sienna Miller (whose body language made it obvious she's been all over him - then again, she's been all over everybody), Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. He was obviously embarrassed having his film which has been critically panned and a box office flop in competition there with La La Land. Gosling was charming but Emma Stone is ON. She was so pushy and phony. I thought she was better than that. Very disappointed. She was obnoxious.
They want the sparklers because there would be no other way to distinguish between a $100 bottle of wine and a $5,000 bottle. 99.9999999999 percent of all wine drinkers could not tell the difference.
Only someone with more money than sense would buy a $5000 bottle of wine.
What keeps the sparkler from igniting the wine (alcohol) and causing a conflagration in the restaurant? Ben won't make it to November acting like the idiot he is. His wife better get the insurance in order. And the Will!
With the condition Ben is in, they can serve him box wine and he won't know the difference.

agree about everything specially about Emma's behaviour: she's trying so hard now and is painful to watch. She's trying hard to seem funny, relatable, smart…everything! she's just a sad copy of her friend JLaw, another phony little thing.
that's exactly why just a tacky parvenu would put sparkles to show off: any decent wine lover would know that not only is bad taste but could ruin the fucking wine.

I love that word, parvenu! I don't get it about the sparkler. Does it fall into the bottle of wine after it's done sparkling? Who'd want burnt metal and gunpowder in wine?

Wow. Apparently it's hate on Ben Affleck month. Look. Can we just agree that Casey won't get the Oscar and Garner will never ever be revealed as less than stepford perfect instead of having blinds about freaking sparklers? It's actually kind of likely he JUST wanted the sparklers for the sparklers sake and ordered the wine for that reason. $5000 for a cheer me up sparkler and then.... No sparkler? So sad!
So ya'll really gonna act like Emma Stone isn't behind all these rumors of her and Gosling. They always come out at convenient times for her and her painted in a certain light. I don't believe there is anything going on, but it doesn't mean she isn't gunning for it. It's almost the same tactic from before she hooked up with Garfield play for play, but sadly Gosling isn't Garfield. I wouldn't have thought so if it wasn't for her appearance on this show. At one point he gave her a brief derisive look. Not to mention him looking at her like she was crazy at the SAGS, but every other article was describing it as some sappy shit. For one it benefited the Oscar race she wanted to win and if it got her another trophy all together more the sport. No doubt in my mind that shit was her and her PR, friends etc.Wolf in sheeps clothing that one. She's been so fake, try hard etc. this past awards season that it put me off her indefinitely. She's got her Oscar now the academy can forget about her though.
