Your Turn

Watching Super Bowl? It used to be when there was a blowout, that you could at least look forward to the commercials. The thing is now though, companies want to make sure their ads are noticed so they post them to YouTube days or even a week prior to the game. Part of the fun was being surprised and that is gone. I think you are much more likely to stand out if you come up with a great ad that no one has seen in advance.

It expands the number of impressions for nothing.

Yes I'm watching--theres money to be won.
The ads recently for this game have been 90% piss poor except for the Budweiser ads.

I'll watch some of it, probably not all. Probably not the Gaga show, still not sure.
I'd hate to miss T Brady getting injured.

My wife and I are going to my father-in-law's for the weekend to watch it with him. She says he's really looking forward to having someone to watch it with. She's making stuffed shells for dinner that night so it ought to be good. Go Falcons!

by posting the commercials on Youtube, it kills the anticipation. It's just not fun anymore and very ho hum.

Gaga's halftime show will definitely be political, she said it's about "diversity" and "inclusion" which means there's probably going to be a lot of rainbow flags which will not sit will with middle America.

Love football so I'm looking forward to the game. Super Bowl not the same without 'surprise' commercials. Releasing them before has caused it to loose its luster. Don't care about gaga but I'm looking forward to seeing Luke Bryan sing anthem - gomer on Botox!

Go Pats! A ring for each finger and the end of Deflategate. Plus seeing that fraud Goodell give us the trophy, and have to show up next Sept at the opener to a stadium full of booing fans means I will die a happy fan! One More!

maybe the halftime show. We look at the Super Bowl as a time to shop and do all the fun things around town that are normally too crowded to do.

Spanx offered me six figures to be in a Super Bowl commerical for them this year. But when I came out of the dressing room with A1sauce all over the front of me, they sent me home. Cheap F******s

An extremely boring sport and hasbeen ladyboy gaga shouting shit in the middle of the night here? I do not know if it is shown in this country's TV, but no way in hell I am watching that.

Commercials aren't special anymore, I agree with all of your posts. My team isn't in it so I'll casually watch while turning it to the puppy bowl. Definitely not excited to see Lady Gaga, she'll try to be shocking and it'll be blah. What would really be shocking from her would be a good show without any pandering to her already dying fan base. Rooting for Atlanta, rise up.

That's right, go Falcons. I hope Shady Brady goes home with his tail between his legs.

Then don't watch it...DUH.

In the history of the Super Bowl (Okay, Big Game) when the #1 Defense meets the #1 Offense (like this year's Big Game) 4 out of the 5 times this has happened, the #1 Defense won.
Only exception was in 1989-90 when SF beat Denver in a blow out 55-10.
I know from what I've read, that Dan Quin is planning on pressuring Tom 'all game' -- because that is why Tom lost 2 Big Games.
But, if the Pats "do their jobs" as I suspect they will, LaGarrette Blount will have a very big game against the 27th ranked defense.
Pats by more than the spread.
(I should probably go to the nearest sports book and place a wager.)

Nobody in this house watches football. But I have to agree I'd love to see Brady get his ass kicked...

Just saw on Al-Jazeera last night that NFL ratings are down ~20% perhaps because people's attention spans are shorter now. I don't follow American football, but apparently the game lasts 3 hours? Maybe they know this and they figured nobody's going to wait to see the ads run on the day, so they post them where the all short-attention span people hangout: YouTube.
