No, his band mate and him engaged in enough pda to make any normal person think they were an item. They would even give each other hickeys during interviews and professed their love for each other more than once. Yes it could have been a joke, but it seemed more real than their other "relationships" to anyone paying attention.

She's always going to want more money. Without being married to her, it is difficult to win many custody fights. If he can present himself in a positive enough light, he'll get great custody rights, which can be used to stop her from being a money grubbing ho that makes his life miserable every 18 or so months.
