Speaking of Mariska, back in the early 60s I spoke with her mom on the phone. My best friend, a dancer, knew her well. Can't tell you how incredibly sweet, warm and sincere Jayne Mansfield was that night. She made me feel like I had been her best friend for years. I have never forgotten that phone chat. She died shortly thereafter. A real tragedy all around.
