Blind Item #11

Apparently this A/A+ list mostly movie actress decided Lyme Disease was not a good fit for her so picked some random disease to claim she has but her explanation of it and how she is feeling with it makes no sense and runs contrary to 99% of the people who suffer from the disease. My guess is she wants a fallback position for her drug use.

hadn't heard she was going to pull the lyme disease card. makes sense. it's called opiate addiction angie...we already know the disease you've got. you're not special.

Bell's Palsy is a better cover for someone who isn't seen in public for a while because of something like rehab. If she doesn't really have it, I'm not sure how she's faking it in front of people who do see her, unless all of those people work for her.

just sayin\' said...

can't see angie admitting to bell's palsy because it paralyzes part of your face. she wouldn't want people picturing her as anything less than gorgeous.

I believe her. However, I do believe she hides all the horrible side effects she must be suffering from her full and complete hysterectomy. Lots of bad stuff happens to a woman's body and health after this surgery. I think its entirely possibly she went a bit wacko after her surgery and that helped the demise of her marriage. I don't say this to demean women. Its just that I've had the same surgery and I was knocked back so hard by what it did to me. I don't like this woman but I do feel sympathy for her post hysterectomy health.

Angelina Jolie, bells palsy.
I call bullshit, and fire and brimstone on her.
I've known three people who suffered from bells palsy.
Only one made a total recovery, the other two still are suffering from some partial facial paralysis.
I have no respect for false sickness claims from anyone for sympathy. Especially those who have the best medical care at their fingertips.

Why do people think that Lyme is a glamourous disease? It comes from being bitten by a tick, which means either that you are sort of a country bumpkin, or that you live next to rats.

Kat said...

I thought I read yesterday at usweekly that she did say she's got a case of BP right now?

so true ladylaw. i went through it too at 38. overnight menopause, what a shock to the system. my problem with her using it as an excuse is that she seemed and looked healthy and glowing for years after the surgery. her recent emaciation and decline are so typical of advanced opiate addiction, which both she and brad are rumored to have hidden for years. and yes, you can function as parents and actors with a heroin addiction if you have the money so that you never run out/have reliable, high-quality product.

Obviously notorious hypochondriac Angelina Jolie.

Kate said...

@just sayin did you do lupron?

Sadie said...

And if you had fillers or botox that screwed up your face, claiming to have temporary Bell's Palsy makes such a convenient excuse.

Or that you occasionally go outside for like a walk or something

I assume people choose it because (a) they can still glam themselves up while they claim they have it and it doesn't have the same level of undeniably visible consequences (vs. chemo side effects or tremors) as other ailments and (b) they can use it as an excuse for cancelling, not showing up, etc. while other times they're going about perfectly normal ("some days I feel terrible and other days I'm okay"). I only know a little bit about the disease, though, so I'm not sure.

no - i've been off of hrt since i was about 45 (i'm 60 now. ouch). i tried premarin pills, then various hormone cream blends, and eventually stopped having hot flashes and gave it up due to the risks. i tried to get hrt again recently to help with low-energy but my dr. said no. how about you?

I TOTALLY agree. Looks like we are all in the same boat...I went through it at age 34. I really believe Angelina is a hero to women with the BRCA cancer gene mutation...it's easy to sit back and criticize, but let's also remember that she has been extremely brave in her medical decisions...and since she is an actual human being, she must be physically suffering from those decisions quite a bit. A preventative mastectomy and a full hysterectomy isn't a picnic for ANY woman, even one as wealthy and famous as she.

cdan fan said...

key word: "rumored"....just sayin'...
we have no factual information that she is lying about her health. And let's not attack her for looking good after her surgery-maybe it took a while for her to lose weight, or maybe the added stress contributed to weight loss. It happens! Also, keep in mind that unlike other women who have had hysterectomies, women at high risk of breast cancer often do NOT take hormone supplements. So...Angelina might actually have it WORSE than other young women who went through immediate menopause.

Lila said...

She's a major FRAUD; I don't believe she had any mastectomy/hysterectomy and never did. I didn't believe the "chickenpox thing either; she clearly wasn't sick and was sitting there with fake red dots drawn all over and a smug little smile that said "this is for all you stupid people out there". So no on the "Bells palsy thing too; more like "plastic surgery screwup" if anything!

Huh. In the case of my family, it meant that we lived with a meadow behind our house where the deer frequently roamed. I would hardly call us country bumpkins, unless you consider the middle of NJ the country. Each and every one of us had it over a period of 5 years, and we were likely exposed in our backyard. BTW, the ticks are the size of the head of a pin, incredibly easy to over look until it's too late and you've been infected.

Fairylights said...

Sounds pretty much like what I had. The fatigue is the big thing, you just feel like you're walking through sand all day, every day. You have to have had it for quite a while before the neurological side effects kick in.

I don't remember Angelina claiming to have Lyme. She tested + for the BRCA gene. With her mom's cancer history and her own persistent sorrow from losing her, she didn't want that experience for her kids, thus the hysterectomy and mastectomy. It was reported her Bell's Palsy was diagnosed as a 'temporary' condition. What did it? A viral infection, botox, who knows. I'm willing to bet they tapped the facial nerve during one of the injections. I also don't ever recall her using a fallback for anything including her drugs and anorexia. I don't think she' a hypochondriac. Just by looking at her appearance she doesn't seem to be in good health and probably has some osteoporosis. In her case, when calories are not coming in, then fat, then muscles, and finally bones will do as last resort.

just sayin\' said...

you're right, i hadn't read about it. i don't buy it (the acupuncture "cure")...think sadie's botox theory may be the truth behind the story.

OKay said...

Y'know, Enty, you also claimed that Angelina was wearing long sleeves to cover track marks. Then, what, three days later? - voila, sleeveless at Disneyland with the kids, and no track marks. I know you like to think you have an AJ source, but you don't. Just bitchy people speculating, that's all it is.

Maria said...

Angelina Jolie. She looks like a junkie who starves herself. I don't believe she has Bells Palsy at all. Sounds like a lie. Plus there was another blind about 3 weeks ago saying she wears long dresses and sweaters to cover up her track marks despite it being July.
She is a loser and a fraud.

Maria said...

The blind says she thought about using Lyme Disease.

Dannette said...

Angie the plastic fantastic washed up Photoshop example.

Maria said...

She was hiding her arms behind her kids. Its obvious she must still be doing drugs.

texasrose said...

Yesterday I made a comment about how I was surprised she didn't claim Lyme. Now I know why. Lyme is no hip anymore.

Kate said...

@just sayin I was referring to your comment about overnight menopause. I did a medically induced menopause (lupron) and it was horrendous. I was wondering if you did the same thing.

just sayin\' said...

oh, i thought lupron must be hrt, sorry for my ignorance. no - i had a total hysterectomy which includes the ovaries. it also puts you into menopause immediately since you don't have them making estrogen anymore. i hope you're better now! this stuff is no fun.

Lyme disease is carried by Deer. Rats carry the bubonic plague. How about that for a disease du jour?

Something seems wrong with this website past few days. Things won't open and such.

cebii said...

I wouldn't either, except I've seen it. My wife had Bell's Palsy. Regular doctor predicted she'd need six weeks to regain control of her face. She got acupuncture and was back to normal in less than 10 days.

hunter said...

Angelina Jolie and her Bell's Palsy which she RATHER OBVIOUSLY does not suffer from.

hunter said...

Yup this. I know a couple people with it as well. One made a total recovery and then, years later, it came back (!) so both of them remain affected.

hunter said...

IF YOU CAN READ you would have seen the blind said they considered Lyme but went with something else.

Reading. Reading. Read.

longtimereader said...

That paragraph about her abusing orphan children for her movie is vile. I used to respect her, damn.

gasp said...

i find it so ridiculous out of all the things she could've chosen she picked bells palsy. i guess the cases vary and it can come back but it was, in my experience, a quick and painless illness. if someone's fishing for attention, pick something else to make up.
