I feel sorry for her. She seemed like such an innocent, and I think that Blake did a lot to make her drink more than she would have if he had been a better husband. I hope she has a good life and finds true love and happiness some day.
Country music and musicians tend to glorify drinking,probably to identify with drunk concert goers.

I agree about 'getting wild and drinking' seems to be engrained in the country music scene, or just country scene in general. Though having all those things in her life won't necessarily be enough to battle blossoming alcohol addiction. hopefully she'll be ok

I agree. He's clearly a drunk and she probably started drinking more because of him. If she's his drinking buddy, it means he's less likely to go home with someone else when he's drunk. Not the first time it's happened and won't be the last, sadly.

I think Miranda's emotional wounds from BS cut deep. just listen to her music over the years, it's all there.....what he put here through while he went back and forth to his first wife, then his infidelity while married to her and the hurt and insecurity she felt. I think she tried to beat him at his own game and it didn't work. The booze, the cigarettes and the men didn't erase the pain, only made here feel worse about herself. The story is told in her music. It's a shame, I hope she can turn it around, she's a very talented artist. Oh and for all the drama that the industry likes to whip up about Miranda and Gwen, deep down they are very much the same, women with big hearts. Completely different artists but both extremely talented. I love them both, and wish only happiness for all involved.

Hey! 'gunpowder and lead' is one of the best country tunes ever. That's my jam.
It always is. It's about as realistic as a Disney movie. This is what happens when you lie to yourself, or allow others to lie to you and you go against your fundamental nature and the laws of nature. Nothing sadder than an older woman that's unmarried, no kids, trying to be young and cute (mutton dressed as lamb is never cute and fools no one) when she would have been far happier to have married and been a good wife and mother. Now she'll have substance abuse issues, be a weird animal hoarder/cat lady that thinks animals are equal to children, and die alone. The worst part is she will go to her grave thinking she was strong and independent and didn't need no man. Feminism is a cancer and destroys women while pretending to liberate them. Liberate them from what? A normal and purposeful life?
Astara: I know plenty of women who are married who don't don't have kids (either because of health issues or because their husbands don't want them) who have dogs that both spouses treat and love like kids. Modern family.
Oh yeah and some women have always known the true nature of men and figure out early they aren't worth the trouble. Also kids are over-rated.
