I used to go every year to see the Ray Harryhausen movie marathon. That's a big YES and I miss going.

I absolutely LOVE the drive-ins. Luckily we still have one here.

No they didn't exist anymore in NYC when I grew up.

I still go now and then, as I am lucky enough to live within a couple miles of one (four screens!!). I remember mom and dad piling all of us in the station wagon with Big-K sodas in a cooler, bags of popcorn and a folding chair or two and we would go see movies. There was even a playground for all the kids - it really was fun. The worst part would be the smell of OFF! in the car if the mosquitoes were bad.

Went with boyfriend almost every Friday night when we were in high school. Often it was a double date. Always a double feature and cartoons too. Yes, I'm old!

Yup. Did the whole hiding people in the trunk too.

Yep, many times as a kid, both with the fam and with friends.

yes! so much fun. went to one in san jose in the 60's. kids would wear their pajamas and play on a playground under the big screen til the movie started. there's still a successful drive-in near where i live in upstate new york.

Yes! When I was a preteen, there was a drive-in in out area. Occasionally our parents took us to a move there. It was fun! Miss them.

I went when I was younger. There are actually quite a few around where I live, they seem to be making a comeback.

Of course!
I'm old enough to remember how uncomfortable it was because sitting in the back seat was the worst view of the screen.

(I always had dad's big head in the way!)

And the speakers didn't always work properly.
Static and or not at all.

Going to the drive in movie wasn't as nostalgic as they want you to believe.

There's a reason they are no more.

I do not even think those things exist in Europe.

Yes! When my husband and I were first dating we'd go occasionally, it was a nice, cheap date for two college students. He had an old jeep that we'd pop the top off of, and the windshield folded down, so there wouldn't be anything in the way of the screen. That was back in the late '80s, there aren't any around where we live now.

Let's all go to the lobby.....let's all go to the lobby! And don't forget the pizza with the mush-a-roomy room sauce.

Yes!!! Saw Dirty Harry and The Godfather....we had very liberal "parental discretion advised"

Does crashing my car into the living room count?

Never. I've seen them come and go and there is one near me now but never the urge to go.

I miss drive-ins. A friend had one close to her home and the drive-in backed on to a field. Every once in a while we would walk to the field then one of us would crawl in the grass up to the speakers and turn the volume up full blast, and we'd sit in the field and watch the movies. They caught on to us eventually.

Yes. Saw Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Herbie Rides Again (or the Love Bug or whatever) That Darn Cat...and Fiddler On the Roof. Holy crap childhood triggers!!! Lots of fun. Miss them!! Yes I'm old, but these were old movies even then (mid 70s). Features, cartoons and the dancing hot
dogs....

Absolutely I love the drive in movies!! Nothing like on a hot sweltering summer night, a good movie (hopefully), good friends, ice cold beer, wine coolers, soda, snacks and lawn chairs. We sit way in the back row as not to bother others, chill and relax.

We used to go all the time when I was a kid. I loved it! The one in my hometown closed up for good when I was about 19 or 20. But there's still one in Watrous, Saskatchewan, and we took the kids there while on vacation a few years ago. They got a real kick out of it, and I'm so glad (although they hardly remember it now).

Probably not - no space. Man, you are missing out.

Yes. Back a truck into parking space. Affix speakers.Arrange sleeping bags & lawn chairs in truck bed. Break out wine coolers & sodas, snacks, buy fresh popcorn. Relax and enjoy. California coast so no mosquito's-thank heavens.

Yes, we did that too! It was $5 per car, so we would borrow someone's dad's station wagon and pile about 10 people in there.

My parents took us as well, where we saw Jaws and Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice- a movie about swingers!

Good times. I miss drive ins.

yes, multiple times in my hometown of Kennebunk, Maine

After reading this question, I Googled my old town's drive in and they are still in business!

They have 3 screens, but prices have certainly changed. Now it's $12 per adult and Thursdays have special pricing of $18 per carload.

There are definitely still drive-ins lol. There are probably 3 around me that I can think of.

I lost my virginity at the drive-in. Been looking for the damn thing ever since

I wish! That's so '50s. And I just woke up from a dream about my granny and '60s cars too. I grew up in the '90s watching "Grease". ?

Oh, God. Please don't put these ideas in my mind. My brother's stalkerish girlfriend (follows my brother across the country every time he's in town for a business trip so she can come over to our house and "meet the parents" repeatedly—bitch literally crashed my birthday lunch and made it all about her) has been coming more/too frequently after my parents let my brother use the new car my parents got. Now I feel like we should fume the interior!!!! EUWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! God help meee... I love that car! ???

Absolutely. One of the last remaining authentic drive-in theaters is in the city just to the north of me, and it's open in the summer and while the weather is warm in the spring and autumn. The tickets are far cheaper than the regular theater, plus you get to see two movies for one ticket, so I go as often as possible. :-) And I go alone, I don't care... most of the time, I bring a bunch of fast food with me. X-)

Yes! One was the real deal down here but is, unfortunately, now gone.
And I've been to one a few times in Vegas that has you tune into a certain station to hear it while parked in front of one of several screens, for one of several movies showing there at that time.
