Probably true. Meaning: I don't know if he said it, assuming he did, I wouldn't be surprised if he's right. (Not that this makes him a cool or nice guy in any way.) Maybe not tons of women, maybe not the best looking one out there, but probably plural. Any guy who has that kind of fame, and isn't yet completely broke can find some young-er female to give him sex in exchange for self-esteem, lifestyle, money---whatever. Sad, but true. (And I don't know how many men, with that option, would refrain from saying the same thing. Sadly.) Look at what Enty has written about Nicholson with some young woman living with him. And he's gotten about as crusty as they come, no???

I believe him. Who know how this came about or what each side feels they're not getting. In the end, he has the money and fame to get what he wants. For a man, you don't need to be pretty, you just need to be rich.

Listen. If he actually said this to her and was not already cheating on her it would restore my faith in Hollywood men. These WeHo chicks are so beyond. Even if you are D list they will do anything. The for an icon like Lionel! He probably has mothers offering up there daughters. It's true. I know. Why is his daughter yachting?

I don't know if it makes him look bad, but a bit shallow to say the least. On the other hand, if they are both consenting adults, and he has needs that are important to him in a relationship, it's fair for him to say that that are not getting met.
To say that there are lots of other young women she could be replaced with, however--particularly to a longtime lover--is humiliating and manipulative, IMHO. No need to *go there* to get your point across in a respectful way. They both know his status. They both know his options. Bringing it up, in the way that Enty describes, sounds like a threat, which is pretty classless.
IMHO You're taking this way to literally. The part about plenty of others to take her place is just inflammatory and maybe even made up to make for a better blind. He's basically telling her he needs more sex or something may change.
