Blind Item #8 - The Whole Story
Back in the day, this actress was in some of my favorite movies. Now, she actually is being recognized for her talents and has been picking up Emmy nominations/wins right and left. She put in jail an ex back when they split. The thing is, he begged her to not tell everything in her complaint and she agreed. There was a lot more than a beating or two. He constantly abused her and demeaned her and assaulted her. She stuck with it for far too long and wishes now she would have said it all back then because of the way he treated subsequent girlfriends. He bought their silence after the fact but if she had gone public they might not have had to go through what they suffered through. She says he would cheat and then come see her and tell her how good the other woman was in bed. This actor is probably A-/B+ list. That face you know, but never know his name. He has had his own show. She says he used to go visit the sets of rap videos and use his star power from a movie he starred in that had some black star power to talk to some of the background women. He would find a woman and pay her to have sex and yell racist things at her the whole time they were having sex. He would then come and tell our actress what he did and be so proud of it and make her feel bad for not being there for him like she should be.

What is wrong with these women? If my BF called me to tell me he picked up some woman so he could yell racist things at them during sex and then try to make me feel bad I wasn't there for him---hahahahaha, I'd've laughed my ass off.

This should be pretty easy to verify before you guess- a non black actor who was in a movie with black star power, jail for spousal abuse, on a TV show.
He had a show, but no one ever knows his name. Probably not Billy Bob, everyone knows his name.

Laura Dern and Billy Bob split doesn't match the blind either, she was away and then he was gone with you know who.
He's a double Oscar winner and is constantly in the news, (for better or worse) so yes, he is permanent A+ list.
Whoever this is is terribly needy and fragile. Wouldn't take much to beat his sad little ego down.
Does everybody know Christian Slater? He was in jail for beating his girlfriend and had his almost tv show with mr. robot.

Diane Lane and Josh Brolin. He had a tv show early on for a few years and she had him arrested for domestic battery then did not press charges.
I would guess Diane Lane and that Brolin boy, who at one time had his own TV series, Private Eye.

I think it could be Reese/Ryan. He was in Crash, he has a show, recent DV accusations, it’s a stretch to say no one knows his name but he’s not exactly a household name anymore. And Reese Witherspoon clearly hates his guts.
Trying to make Matthew Fox work. He fits many aspects of this BI except he is still married to the same and only woman for years now.
Would no one recognize Brolin's name? He has been the lead in TV shows, but isn't he well known for his movies? He was nominated for an AA at least once.

Except Elizabeth Moss didn't do movies "back in the day" at all. It's probably an older actress.
Moss and Armisen was my first thought. She’s getting recognition for The Handmaid’s Tale, the descriptors could apply to him, and there’s been talk of him being just the worst.
Elisabeth Moss DID do movies back in the day, she's been acting since the 90. didn't have any major roles though, which could kill my guess

Nobody has guessed Michael Rappaport... Maybe because it's a bad guess, but it's the name that popped to mind reading the blind.

No, Michael Rappaport was the first to occur to me! His breakout films were Zebrahead and Higher Learning, plus he has a reputation as an "honorary b-boy." His ex is probably Lili Taylor, who accused him of stalking and abusing her, and apparently was recently Emmy-nominated for the network series American Crime (not American Crime Story).
It’s diane lane and josh brolin. You know his face but don’t know his name because father James Brolin has better NAME recognition, no matter how much work Josh has done, james has bigger name.
His “own show” was one season Mister Sterling in 2003, he played lead.

Agree with Michael Rapaport/Lily Taylor. He had his own TV show, was in HIGHER LEARNING which had star black power, and isn't that well known a name. Lily was in a couple great movies back in the day and is now getting attention for TV.

I'd say it's Michael Rapaport and Lili Taylor also, though I'm not sure he actually served jail time for the harassment charges. He did direct a video about a rap act and i think maybe a couple of his movies had black star power? He seems misogynistic (attacked the lawyer Lisa Bloom via a blog post for defending Blac Chyna) and racist (attacked Aziz Ansari for being a "politically correct F***"). I could see it being him.
I'm changing my mind, guessing instead it's Tom Sizemore and Juliette Lewis.

He doesn't have a son named Dean, but don't let that distract you or make you think MR made an account to defend his main account and talks back and forth to.
NO celebs have alt accounts and none have ever accidentally forgot to log out of their alt account before making a post intended from their main. That is unimaginable and ridiculous I would even make such a claim.
Rappaport was also in multiple Spike Lee movies iirc. Do the Right Thing, I believe, among a few others? So that would probably give him a leg up, so to speak, on the set of rap videos...

Rappaport has a huge part in rap/hip hop music history. He knew EVERYBODY! Still does. Doesn't mean this blind is about him though. He was there the day Snoop and Tupac first met. Has amazing stories you can find on YouTube, etc.

"That face" is right! I knew his face as soon as I Googled him but not his name. He doesn't have a lot of info to find, or at least I haven't found it yet. Interesting about him is that he has a son with Natassja Kinski. I'm not sure if he has a relationship with the son as his info lists Ibarhim Moussa as a father as well. If Natassja Kinski doesn't stand out to you, she had a relationship with Roman Polanski when she was 15 years old. In reading her Wiki page, I now know there's been a blind here about her. I'm going to try to find it.
The only movie with black star power that I see is City of Hope in 1991 which, fits the timeline of him dating Laura Dern in 1992 and still coasting off of that film. This was an interesting dig even if it turns out not to be correct.
Also, just my 2 cents, but I feel like Ryan Philippe, Christian Slater and Billy Bob Thornton are definitely names that are well known. There are a couple of others listed here that I haven't looked up yet.

I'm on board with Lily Taylor and Michael Rapaport. 'The War At Hom'e being the show that he was in and not to mention the several rap videos he's been in over the years.
It's ironic that I had actually heard his name pop over the years but I pictured him being someone else, as opposed to recognizing his face and not his name.
