Today's Blind Items - Awww Shucks Rapist
If I asked you your first thoughts about this A- list mostly movie actor all of you know, you would say he is a great guy and happily married forever by any standards and not just Hollywood. You would love his movies and recognize he has been in some of the biggest movies of all time and in some of your favorite movies.
Now, what if I told you, he was a serial rapist who used his power to force himself on women. Not just one woman, but many women. What if I told you, his long time good friend who is supposedly a leader of the #TimesUp movement not only knows about the women but is someone who would introduce women to the actor specifically because they wanted to meet our rapist. The good friend often times had sex with the women as a condition to him introducing them to the actor. He looked for women who were open to being submissive. Our A- list actor is aggressive and preferred if the encounter was consensual but is not going to let a no stand in his way. That aww shucks image he feels is always going to be his best defense. He thinks the women he hooks up with on the side are trash and treats them that way. He says they are disposable.

The first sentence reads like Jeff Bridges, but the second doesn't. The Big Lebowski may be one of people's favourites, but JB hasn't bee in any of the "biggest movies of all time". That could be Hanks, but he's not A-. Matthew Mc or Damon haven;t been married THAT long yet and neither of them comes across as a great guy,TBH.

My first thought was Paul Rudd, who many other people guessed. His friend being Judd Apatow. However, I think Judd seems really devoted to Leslie Mann and wouldn't be off cheating on her. Also, I think Leslie would dump him if she found out.

Thoughts?
First of all, both the lists shared on this thread are depressing. Rob Reiner, Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson and a couple other creeps are on Himmmmm's good guy list? Didn't we just see Enty name Gibson as one of the town's worst abusers of women in a Blind Item revealed? Isn't Depp, Marilyn Manson's pal, allegedly drinking himself to death, according to CDAN?
And Bruce Springsteen went to David Geffen's 75th birthday party? Geffen, who should be a recluse by this point, instead tossing a gala for himself and superstars parade to fete him? So disheartening. If Bruce Springsteen turns out to be a sexual criminal of some kind, I may just throw in the towel and join the Peace Corps. I know someone who knows the 9/11 Jersey widow activist he was seeing on the sly for a while, and he sounded like a decent guy who knew exactly what went down on 11Sept01.
As for the blind itself, I feel like a lot of these guesses are intentionally bad and wrong, and meant to mislead. Or do some people have no reading comprehension skills?
The "Aw Shucks" actor's #TimesUp friend is also male, but not classified as an actor. He does something else. So that really narrows it down. I personally don't think Tom Hanks is A+ anymore--far more of his movies have failed than succeeded in the past five years--but I guess his career resume puts him there. Not sure who his pal would be either, unless it's Spielberg. But wouldn't we get "Oscar winner" or some other kind of hint along those lines.
Paul Rudd, who is right around A- yet has been in some very popular films, seems a good choice. He's been married 15 years. Judd Apatow, who has been just about the most outspoken #TimesUp male figure and is a writer/producer/director but has always seemed like a smug, self-righteous hypocrite to me would also fall right in line with the blind.
The Rudd/Apatow guesses are probably on the money. Rudd makes me sad, I really like the guy on screen. Apatow I've had pegged as a fraud and dirtbag for quite some time now. Not sure he's even made a really good movie since "Knocked Up."
@yepthatsme, Harrison Ford hasn't been married to Callista that long, and she's his third wife. It's not him. Tom Hanks has two Oscars, no way he's A-. Ron Howard was my first thought, but it doesn't mention the person being a director/producer, which is what he does now. Billy Crystal and Gary Sinise are interesting guesses.

Absolutely! As I posted earlier, Jim Toth is one of the original 3 male Times Up supporters, and he's already been called out on this blog for being a Times Up hypocrite.
Some of these guesses are downright silly. Women (somehow) meeting Spielberg or Reiner (or whoever the friend guesses are) and sleeping with them just to get closer to the A- actor? No. As an agent, Toth makes perfect sense. He is dripping with women who are dying to meet stars.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's about: NO ONE!! It's complete BS! There are so few clues that it could be about pretty much any well-known actor in Hollywood.
As disgusting as Hollywood is, I find it very hard to believe that some non-top tier (i.e. not top power) actor can go around raping woman...not harassing, or couch casting, but VIOLENTLY RAPING women, and it's well known enough that it gets back to some entertainment lawyer, yet not ever get to the ears of someone who could/would do something about it.

Wow! If DeeJay hadn't guessed Sean Astin (and I would have never gone there, but it all fit so brilliantly!), I would have thrown out the names Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider. Sean Astin would explain so much. At some point after the filming of the LOTR series, three of the hobbits continued to be friends, and one of them (S.A.) did not. In fact, you never really saw him, other than publicity photos, out and about with the others. I always assumed it was because he seemed fixated or obsessed with 'Frodo', and that obsession might have continued after they returned from New Zealand. I'm guessing maybe there was some knowledge among the others that this is what he was like? He's got three daughters too....wonder if they are being raised to be submissive to men. Hope not.

So my best man's brother worked on the movie Rudy at Notre Dame about 25+ years ago. (He was a theater major at Notre Dame who was on the crew along with numerous students)
I just sent him this blind to get his thoughts if he heard of any of this even back then. No idea if Corey was hanging around back then but that would have been easy pickin's in 1992 - doing a movie on a college campus.

As for Astin, I don't really know what to say. I don't really know him as anything other than Sam, and probably that other kid from the Goonies who isn't Corey Feldman. As long as its not Elijah Wood I guess. But its pretty sad how now theres 2 Lord of The Rings actors with wrongdoings. Ian McKellen has a blind reveal here, and hes pretty close to Bryan Singer. As for the friend, again, its good to know that Elijah Wood isn't involved in this. As much as it pains me to say it, this does sound like Corey Feldman. I was with Corey ever since the scandal. I even read his book and watched the lifetime movie. Then I saw the other blinds years prior that showed more of his shady behavior and animal abuse(Corey Haim did it too). So now I have no fucking clue. But Himmm's description would kinda fit with Feldman's out there description here.
It seems like this isn't a black and white issue regarding Hollywood. It real life, it defiantly is. But it seems like even the victims have some dirty history in some way.
